Being in Arky this week for work and listening to a lot of their talkshows, the fans are livid about the 'Meltdown on Markham' being the worst loss in the history of the school. It got me thinking.... LSU has some pretty big highs throughout history and some pretty big lows in my lifetime under the Hallman/Dinardo eras.

What was the lowest you ever felt after an LSU game? I think the worst, most beat up as a fan I've ever felt about a loss was the monday night Tennessee game following the hurricane.

This because we couldn't play again the next week to make ourselves forget about it. It was an 8 month meltdown

and its not even close. what really made this lose so bad was the season leading up to it. we were on track for one of the greatest seasons in NCAA history and we lay an egg in the championship game.

As bad as 1/9/12, I think everyone really had the feeling that the deck was stacked against LSU, and that the whole rest of the world wanted Bama to win more than anything--so much so that Bama got another shot at the Tigers.

That being said, I still can't get over the Interception Game.

frick.

The list is long for this LSU fan. 92 ARK game in the sleet in Fayettville, 98 ARK, 2002 ARK, 2007 ARK, 2008 ARK, 2010 ARK, you get my point...I can't stand ARK and was thrilled this past Sat. with what happened. Our biggest loss and biggest meltdown, by far, and I don't think it will ever be surpassed, was 1/9/12.

The loss to Miami of Ohio in 1986. I think LSU was ranked #8 in the country. Miami of Ohio had no business winning that game. I was in shock after that game.

I am much more a football fan than hoops, but oddly enough mine was the final four loss in 88(?) i am drawing a blank on year and opponent now lol. I must have blocked it out. I was around 10 at the time and I just remember that pit in my stomach after it was over.

Football it is 1/9/12, I just can't get passed the fact we had a QB on the bench who could have changed the outcome.

I'm shocked the "what happened in the locker room" conspiracy threads aren't still popping up now and then.

1/9/12...like everyone else said....

In addition, it was Auburn 1997...we would have gone to the SEC title game had we won the game. On third and two, we decide to throw the ball when we could have iced the game with a running play. Collins was unstoppable that night and he could have gotten two yards.

Alabama-Birmingham

Like their 4th season being 1-A. They never beat anyone of note before or since...to my recall

1-9, while being disappointing, was a L to the best college had to offer. I can handle those, but losing to a freaking Bama-Bir. was much harder on my LSU fanhood.
