Will this be the year LSU definitively decimates Auburn on the Plains?

Since 2000, LSU has struggled mightily in the macabre twilight zone known as the Plains. Besieged by inexplicable penalties, suspect no-calls, bizarre play calling, rain-slicked QB's, Heisman Trophy winners, and other assorted misfortunes, LSU has only garnered a single victory in Auburn over the last twelve years (see below). And that win came by a slim five point margin.

However, this year may be different. LSU was absolutely fantastic in dismantling Washington on Saturday night. Auburn is 0-2 and looked pedestrian against Mississippi State. Do those performances portend a three hour purple and gold celebration in Auburn on September 22, or will the eerie spirits of the Plains intervene again to produce a close game? I'd love to see Jordan Hare empty by the fourth quarter save for a dancing contingent of LSU fans. We've endured much injustice in that stadium.

(P.S. Yes, I know it's Idaho game week. But come on, it's Idaho. I'm just rooting for no injuries in the inevitable win.)

One of the most satisfying aspects of last season was the beat down of Auburn. It wasn't just the score. The Tigers seemingly took their will to play. Man, I love thinking about that game.

I guess we should never underestimate Auburn at home, but, yes, I would love to pummel them at Jordan-Hare.

Yes it will. And in consideration of who I work with and where I live, it will be awesome.

The only thing that can help Auburn this year is the refs.

So, maybe.

Magic 8 ball says yes. OTOH, crazy things happen at Auburn.

Going in dry. Refs aren't helping them this time. Quite the other way around, we are the class of the sec.

Maybe les will use a little astro glide towards the end because he's such a softy.

Auburn is not as bad as people are making them out to be ... They're certainly not a Top10 team, but Clemson and MissSt are decent/good teams.

LSU is certainly a better team, but that game is no gimmie. If LSU isn't ready to play, Auburn can give us a scare.

This. Never underestimate the impact that paid-off zebras can have on a game at Aub.

See 2004, 2006 games for reference.

I've learned to NEVER put anything past those frickers in Auburn. We're basically playing 11 vs 20 at all times.

I can't wait for the game. My first as a student there. It's going to be a legal rape.
