Band does not play after extra points

the band has been stopped from playing after a extra point, what a waste, this keeps the crowd revved up. the big thumb is out and they are ruining the atmosphere

I read enough band threads on here to know that the LSU brass tells the band when they can or can't play. Gotta get those advertisement $$$$$ read out over the intercom.
Also, 3 band tunes have been removed due to students shouting vulgarities.

Are they doing ads after extra points? I always thought the band playing was good filler for the change of possession time.

Well you can thank the students and advertisers for that. The band can't play over advertisements over the PA or on field presentations and LSU packs those into every second of time-outs they can.

I wished we'd boo the ads the entire time but we won't. I remember the first time All State hung the banner there was a loud chorus of boos that over time during the game died.
Maybe it's time to have an ad hoc band among students. :)

This. The student behavior is a convenient excuse for the administration to do what it would have done anyway.

They actually started playing a new song after extra points last night a couple of times before the kickoff. Hopefully it'll catch on and be an oweo replacement. I liked it

Yet they play songs like "Scream" by Usher that has lyrics like "relax and get on your back."
The majority of the piped in music they play at LSU games is garbage. I swear I heard at least 3 country songs. Country music....WTF???
That said, it's time for the LSU band to quit playing "you dropped the bomb on me" and "ants marching". That shite is old and way out of date.
