I think it's safe to say that we're not going to win many games with our defense playing like that. That said, you have to think we'll improve as the season goes along (we can't get much worse). Also, I'm sure having Greer back in the starting lineup will help.

Very sloppy game for both sides of the ball; we just can't play like that and expect to win. It'll be interesting to see how this team reacts and plays next week.

What are you guys thinking?

ETA: It's only one game and the sky certainly isn't falling, but we need to get some things cleaned up.

Up? It was the first game. Plenty more left.

I was thinking diagonally.

I'm aware, I wasn't suggesting anything more than that.

Do you really think our D will be worse than last year?

We desperately needed a wakeup call on all facets of our game.
And we got it all right.

Let's see how we adapt going forward before we find a new team to watch.

We'll get it fixed pretty quick. They just came out flat and outta sync. No need to worry. We started last season the same way

Alot of teams will have trouble with RG3 like they did with Vick and Randall Cunningham back in the day. He isn't the stereotypical QB. It's one game.

Giants lost a shitload of games last season. They ended OK.

That they did. We certainly have a team that can win a lot of games.

We need Bunson (Carmichael) to call plays with at least a 60/40 pass/run ratio. I would bet that we will lose most games when we only have 10 running attempts.

It was the first game against a rookie in a system the saints had no film on to game-plan for. We go to practice and get ready for the next game.

I really think the Greer injury killed us. I know It's only person but it affected the entire secondary. I relate it to the Giants game last Weds. Robinson is now the #1, Corey White (a rookie) is now your #2, and when Patrick was injured, some guy #31 came in I had never even heard of.
When that's what your secondary consists of, no wonder a rookie threw for over 300 yards

Agreed. But you can't run the ball too much when you're facing 2nd and 20s every other drive.

I agree that we would expect to run less playing from behind but we had a lot of 3 and outs and receivers that weren't playing that well. I worry that Brees can bully Carmichael into passing more than not. Payton wouldn't put up with that.
