Was great being back at Tiger Stadium (couldn't make it last week). Man what a difference it is having a QB that can open up the vertical game. When the Husky's started off stacking 8 in the box, mett just chucked it down the field. Of couse if he would have those 5 drops back (and what is the deal with Shep??) he would have had about 250 yards and 2 TD.

Our running back core is a beast!! and the defense once settled in was all over Price...

... and what can you say about our special teams (sans the fumble). Wing is a freaking stud as a kicker. I mean, when the punter gets that many props when they announce the starting line up... you know you have someone special.. Over a 52 yard per kick avg plus that pass he kicked for over 60 INTO THE WIND!! we are the elite in special teams.

I think this is going to be a great year, they look hungry and ready to make up for not finishing the job last year!

Geaux Tigers!!!!!

They've had a few complete games the past few years even with horrible QB play. The issue is it was never consistent and they would have a good game an then follow it up with a horrible game.

it did look like they were a helluva lot more organized and the game plan made perfect sense. having that vertical option is nice. Definitely an improvement from last week.

One more tune up then lets go into Opelika and stomp this shite out of Auburn!

It was so pleasing to see our Tigers play to their potential. OBJ is one of my favs, just had a bad night, it happens. I was very excited about so many aspects, I'll just say it was a great night in Death Valley.

LSU has a consistent vertical passing threat now which is always a good thing. I wanted Les to let Rivers take it down field last night

Was shocked at the arrogance or whatever you call UW deciding to run 5-7 step drops. Man #34 nearly killed Price. Everyone was expecting then dink n dunk a la Oregon state 2004 which worked very well on our d.

I agree. I have no idea why Les has to play the nice guy all the time. Rivers need to throw it around, why not do what they did last week, bubble screens, etc to get Rivers so game experience. Miles leaves himself very vunerable if Mett goes down. They have two more games to get Rivers some experience.

Agree. Truly a pleasure to watch an LSU QB sling the ball confidently and accurately. (and check down to a 2nd or 3rd option with poise.)

Only thing I can complain about if I am reaching is that mett needs to do a bit better at looking off his receivers. I am sure he will get there, only his second game.

when Mett let that ball go, I was thinking, uh oh!! but it had a lot of zip and he got it in there. Kid has no fear, I like that. May be a mistake now and then but that is great confidence.

That was close...the first thing that went through my mind was, an Alabama DB would have deflected it or picked it...

that's the difference in player.

With that, Zack Mettenburger looks like the best QB in the SEC...

Rivers? Mett needs all the snaps he can get. The kid has started all of 2 games.

I understand that, but if Miles is going to put Rivers in to just hand off the ball, keep Mett in. If you are going to put him in, give him a chance to make some decisions. I don't really think he is learning all that much outside of getting in and out of the huddle on time and managing the game clock. I would think Miles would want to cover his arse in the event he had an injury so LSU can remain competitive.

Look at what happened to Arky last night when their QB went down. Tank job!
