Couldn't really tell Saturday night...not that it was much of a game to get up for, but I think we should be hospitable and give every visitor the same experience.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned or thought of something.....we had just been through a hurricane.

Many of us...me...had many other things on our minds. Like having to evacuate while thinking I'm going to lose my house.

I didn't, but was still without electricity at game time, the bridge to my house was, and is still washed out and the parish may not fix it.

But guess what, I went to the game, and no, I wasn't hoarse the next day.

ETA: I live about 1/3 mile from the Tangipahoa River.

Totally missed Ben Hill Griffin... that place rocks. Besides 2003 LSU/Georgia. The Swamp was the loudest I've experienced.

I agree with the other posters about Jordan Hare. Very loud and great environment.

That's about right...LSU "fans" get up for about one game a year now.

Yeah, I dunno what happened. Back in the 80's when I was in school, even when the teams weren't that good the stadium rocked.

I don't think it was just the student section making all that noise.

He says in the article that he has never visited a few stadiums and Auburn is one of them. The list is the loudest stadiums he's ever been to.

Could you elaborate on this one? I'd have thought it would be entertaining and fun for that game considering the wildness of it (opening kickoff onside kick, Auburn's kicker (Duval?) vs the LSU Band, LSU going to SEC Championship game for the 1st time). Get the seasons mixed up or were the Aubbies particularly crappy to you?

Tiger Stadium is a mere shell of its former self ...60's, 70's 80's.

1) Prohibition of alcohol in student section / stadium. Remember Arsparger, when asked about Tiger Stadium at night, "you can smell the bourbon on the field" Some folks lose their buzz and leave. (not saying it's right, just saying).

2) Games on tv .. games were over in 2.5 hours. There was no guy with a red cap stepping on the field for a tv timeout. You weren't sitting there for 3.5 to 4 hours.

The tv timeout also leads to another phenomenon: crowd gets pumped, but then stops for commercial, then it's supposed to immediately reignite at end of commercial?

Another factor is the price of success.Let's face it,the majority of fans who can afford to attend are alot more civilized,so to speak, than the working class Joe.

Penn State in it's prime was a top 10 stadium. The next 5 years going forward it won't be a top 25 stadium.
