Is the old sign inside the stadium gone? Haven't been back for a few years.

it's a mouthfull to hang out ther (font would have to be small, prob too small ) but I'd rather this than the 'tiger stadium' in the geaux font.

Not that I mean to complain about it. I really do like the 'tiger stadium' sign, but would rather WTDV

I think they should have put just Death Valley instead of Tiger Stadium. They could put WTDV on the scoreboard since the old one ripped off during Isaac. In 2014 they could put it on the top of the new SEZ like the west side, buy maybe in metal letters like Alex Box.

As much as I would like Death Valley as well, who knows what kind of other stuff that might bring up. Clemons stadium is also called Death Valley and IIRC, they actually had it first. So something along those lines could very well be the reason

I was talking with some friends at the tailgate last this weekend and and we decided they need to put Death Valley on the opposite side (side you see from the parade grounds).

It IS Death Valley. We also have "Deaf Dome", which isn't so much anymore.

There was a time when the students dominated the scene at LSU football games. Political Correctness had not been invented yet. All manner of things that would shock you today went on as far as college-humor was concerned. You may not even know what that means.

Before the stadium was ever renovated or expanded and it was just a bowl with a press box on one side there was a banner or large placard which was on the front of or just under the front of the press box which welcomed everyone to DEAF VALLEY.

Just because you don't remember it doesn't mean it wasn't so.

Where do you think the idea for the term DEAF DOME originated?

I'm sure that there has been a white-washing of history as of now and you likely will find no trace or mention of it in any official LSU publications or websites.

Wouldn't matter because you can still see the poop pipe on the west side upper deck. Now maybe they can cover it with a "Welcome to Death Valley" sign.
