Iwas just down to Head of Island..............

Bro-in-law is building a house down on old river road and is staying across the street. TWO foot of water going down the road after you cross the bridge. 22 is not under water but you better have a truck. I was really trying to keep my composure while driving by ALL that these people have lost. They DO have power and water if anyone from down there is able to read this.

Highest it's ever been on the Tickfaw, and receding so slowly compared to other bad events (Rita and Ike), so everything is staying soaked a lot longer. I still can't get into my place and start the cleanup and might not for another couple of days. Whereas cinder blocks always kept everything up enough in the past-not this time.

I am not aware of any. We had water in the yard, but few of any of those homes ever have a chance of flooding. I would think that homes along the Diversion are some ofthe safest waterfront homes in Louisiana. I know that there were some road access problems on the north end of 22, east of the river above Hilltop. The water will be back in the banks in two days at most...
