3D TV question -- 120Hz vs 240Hz

Same tv(LG 55LM 6700/7600), one has 120Hz and the other has 240Hz. Everything else is essentially the same. $950 for the 120Hz, $1150 for the 240Hz. Is it worth the extra cash for the 240?

Thanks in advance!

FWIW.. i have an lcd 120 and an led lcd 240 and I can't see speed differences in the 2.

the led is brighter but that's about it.

Unless you're actually using it for 3D content, the 120hz will suite you just fine.

I've seen some of the 240hz make movies look fake and hard to watch.

It only takes a few weeks to get used to it. Plus, you can turn that off.

Getting a 3D TV is a complete waste of money.

not when the deal is the same as a non-3d. plus I have 3 small kids...

Another benefit to a lot of 3d tvs is that you can play split-screen video games without the split screen. Full screen for both players.

WELL...

I got this deal in case y'all are in the market...

LG 55LM7600 55" 240 Hz 3D smart TV, 12 pairs of glasses, and LG 3D bluray player for $1199 shipped.

Matched the price with Fry's and then got the guy to throw in the Amazon freebies.

This. I really think people are over 3D and realize that what you get for the amount of money you spend is just not enough. Get a Samsung LED.

Samsung active shutter glasses are problematic. I also have 3 kids so shelling out for extra glasses that are destined to break is not going to happen.

it's a great tv...probably best bang for buck set out there. Make sure to look for the TC-PxxST50, not TC-PxxST30 (where xx is the screen size in inches). There was a huge improvement in this year's ST50 model.

Ive seen some sites say you need 240 to get good 3d. Ive also read plenty of decent reviews on 120 3-d.

Then there is the whole active vs passive argument.
