Mettenberger- the reason we won't win a title (media myth)

I don't want to say we will win a title because it's very hard to win every game especially in the SEC.
But how can the national media use mettenberger as the reason we will not win?
Do they not realize that our QB situation has been pitiful for 4 years?
It's poor reporting.

I havent heard anyone say we won't win BECAUSE of Mettenberger.
Jesse Palmer picked us to win it.
Todd Blackledge picked us to lose to Oklahoma.
Herbstreit said he would have picked us before Honey Badger got the boot, but because of that he wasn't picking us.
Literally haven't heard anyone say we will not win the NC because of Mett.

Clearly they are clueless.
The winningest QB in LSU history was Jefferson. And he wouldn't have started on any other team in the country.
Mettenberger is a huge upgrade of he can pass for 120 and a TD a game.
I think he will blow that stat out of the water.
I think he averages 170-190 yards a game with a 2 TDs

The dude on first take just now was pretty bad. Albeit he was an FSU alum, said FSU and SC in the MNC because bama has a questionable defense and we lost badger.
Also said Richardson is a big blow to bama's offense and mett hasn't done anything yet.

Yes. But it's really the only dedicated sports we have. FSN has a good website but their tv coverage is poor.

With the exception of suspensions or scandals I feel like any press is good press. It means the Tigers are relevant. You just have to keep what the media says in perspective. Until the games are played they are just telling you their opinion.

Ok well the douche the other day on First Take also said Eric Reid is a MUCH better cover corner, better natural corner than honey badger.
Then also said if honey badger were a really top notch NFL prospect that he thought Miles would have done more to sweep this under the rug and bring him back.
Just because they are on ESPN doesnt mean that they know everything about every college football team in the country.

ok. and I've seen some cite Mett as a reason we'll be better offensively because we should have improved QB play. others in the media don't agree. no big deal, we're highly ranked, we win em all and we'll be ok.

A guy on ATL radio yesterday said he has us ranked 9 (behind Bama, Arky, UGA, and South Carolina) b/c "we don't have a QB". I almost called in to say we went to the BCS Champ game without a QB last year

Go back and watch film of the last 3 years....with the run game today and Mettenberger actually being a real qb it could get ridiculous. Our running attack blew everybody out of the water big except Bama. If the passing game is just a little better then Lee we may score 100 on somebody. And what if he is actually a top shelf qb...we will kneel more then once this year. Get ready...going to be special.

The media needs to stop with this whole "doubt a team b/c of an unproven QB" BS. Take the last 3 National Champions.
