I can understand being born and growing up there and family being around. But what a hassle you people have to deal with seemingly all the time regarding Hurricanes. Have any of you or your family left the state because of weather? What else keeps you there? As an outsider, I could never even imagine myself wanting to move there and put up with that mess. Hope everyone is safe, and y'all are in my thoughts. Oh...and to cheer you up, There is Football on tomorrow night Hope you have power and cable and are able to watch it!

Extra vacation day(s). I'm in my element in this kind of weather. Not even a hassle at all.

If you're not on the coast it's not bad. We didn't do anything to prepare other than picking up stuff in the yard and tying a couple things down. About 30 miles from the gulf

not every year. And it's not like it floods an entire city if it does.

Hurricanes make shite interesting. Days off work and the excitement of not knowing whats going to happen. Breaks up the monotony.

what is your definition of all the time? I live in Covington and this is the first hurricane since Katrina (7 years ago) that has caused me to prepare and be concerned about. I love Louisiana for many reasons. My family is here, our friends, love the area and culture of south la. I fish quite a bit and it can't be beat for that.

Well I could move to California for wildfires, earthquakes and men that give blowjobs. Or Colorado for wildfires, snow and avalanches. Or Kansas for tornados. Or NYC for freaks.

I'm in south Louisiana. Looking out my office window right now it's sunny and 10 MPH winds. HOW CAN I STAND TO LIVE HERE?

Extreme weather/natural disasters are a problem no matter where you go. Hurricanes hit Georgia as well, don't they?

Midwest - droughts, tornadoes
Western States - earthquakes, droughts
North - blizzards
Etc.

You can't escape the weather.

I lived in New Iberia (south LA) for 18 years. It is not nearly as bad of an issue as the media makes it out to be.

it's not a hassle. Hurricanes are less frequent than tornado's and that doesn't stop people from living in the midwest prairies. shite I live in Lafayette, and the last hurricane I actually had affect me was back in 2007.

Severe weather and the unknown is actually kinda fun.
