Chris Cooley TE Washington released.

Missed 11 games last year due to knee injury. Supposedly wants a starting gig but who cares about that would be a good addition for the right price. Can also play FB. Could help us keep Cadet or Toon.

You must have missed the can play FB part. Why keep 2 FB if you have 2 TE that can also play there.

Cooley might have nicer stats than DT but we aren't looking for a TE2 that will be used as he was in Washington. We need a role player like DT.

No doubt if he is looking for a pay day we don't need him. But if he wants to come to a winning organization for the right price then why not. I do not want him here to replace DT. He could make an incredibly dynamic offense even better.

I didnt say i think we should go get CC and cut DT. I said that CC is better at doing similar roles than DT. Thats true for Madden, reality, and for the saints. So, yes, for the Saints, Chris Cooley>David Thomas.

Cooley at this point in his career is not much better than Thomas. They are both injury prone but Cooley costs more. Anyway, I have a source that says he is visiting the Pats.

Those bastards. The are probably going to run 4 and 5 TE sets this year.

Doubt he would sign now if at all. It would be like the Plax workout where they just want to know whats out there in case if injury.

If he was healthy, I would not hate the move. But, the Saints are set with Graham, Thomas and Higgins I'd imagine.
