Fishing in South America
Posted by TheGreat318 on 8/28/12 at 9:26 am00
Traveling down the amazon and some of the tributaries. Obviously, the first thing that comes to mind are Peacock Bass, but I think it'd be pretty cool to catch a piranha.
This is not a "fishing trip" in the strictest sense of the word, but I will have a boat with an outboard that we'll pull behind the larger boat, so I can get out and explore.
Question for the OB: If you were going to the Amazon without a lot of guidance on where to fish for what, what gear would you bring?
I'm thinking one ultralight with a light wire leader and treble hooks for piranha and a standard redfish set up with buzzbaits and topdogs in case I am lucky enough to actually catch a peacock.
