Why is the preseason needed?

They need 1-2 IMO to select their team. 4 is far too many.

I think they should cut the last one. 3 would be the perfect #. Make the middle on how the 3rd one is now, like the dress rehearsal. You need the preseason so you don't go into the season cold, and also gives you a chance to work new people in before games that count.

I like 4. It sucks paying for two but I think you get a better shot at judging these young guys and still have plenty of time to work the starters.

4 is way too many. 2 should be max. I understand working out younger players and getting a feel for your team. They don't have the luxury of early NCAA cupcake games, but even now some college teams are bypassing those games. The 2nd halfs of these games are just ridiculous.
