I have an underground dog fence that contains my lab and my pound puppy, but the rat terrier chases cars. He just braces himself and leaps through the fence. He won't chase trucks or SUV's, just smaller cars. He's so crazy fast I'm really not worried about him getting hit, I'm more worried about my neighbors calling Animal Control. I actually told my son to sit on the porch and shoot the dog with his airsoft gun whenever he started to run, but my TELLING him to shoot the dog took all the fun out of it...

Yeah, I saw that already, thanks. Or I could just kill the dog now and solve the problem. You're funny and brilliant.

Um, I got one intelligent reply one the first board, so I thought I'd take it elsewhere. I honestly don't trust a man who doesn't hunt, so I am kind of ashamed that I didn't start here in the first place. But you (and 4x4) are obiously both places, too, so....

HONESTLY I cannot help you. Our border collie is the same way. Just keep him pinned up or by our sides. He has gotten better with age though.

Same thing you do when you catch a lab eating a shoe. Beat him with it.

He likes chocolate, so maybe some special brownies? Then they can just chill and be like, "wow, look at those caaaarsss, dude..."

Keep feeding him chocolate and you won't have to worry about the car chasing bit.

It would be tough to beat him with a car.

Air soft gun. Move up to a Benjamin pellet gun. Then 22 then 410 and so on. You will refine your shooting skills while teaching the dog a lesson.

Or just teach him not to jump over the invisible fence. Or give him exercise and he will be to tired to chase cars.

What are you talking about? Where else did you post this? I was being serious about the shock collar with a remote. It has worked like a charm on my catahoula.

Or put up a real fence A guy that lives down the road from me stopped me and told me if I didn't do something with my dog it was going to get run over. I told him try to hit it. 2 months and he hasn't hit the damn thing yet.

He won't stop. Get an actual fence or put up a zip line/run and chain him to it every day.

Or else you will have a dead dog soon.
