Overrated/Underrated
Pierre Thomas and Marques Colston were both listed at underrated players.
There's a common style of running back that fits in this space. Last season it was BenJarvus Green-Ellis, this season it's Thomas. Both guys have limited home run ability, but they excel at finding small creases in a defense for meaningful gains over and over again. Thomas has exceeded 100 carries in three seasons (2008, 2009 and 2011), and in those three years he has ranked fourth, first and first in rushing DVOA.
PIERRE THOMAS
The key to his success, as mentioned, is consistency. Thomas twice has led the league in Success Rate (percentage of runs that gained effective yardage toward a first down). Since 1991, only 13 runners have had a Success Rate higher than 60 percent in a season. Thomas is one of two men to do it twice. (The other was Lorenzo White, a chains-mover for Warren Moon's run-and-shoot Houston Oilers teams.) Thomas is a specialist and certainly not the best running back in the NFL, but he deserves much better than his ranking (35th).
MARQUES COLSTON
You didn't think Drew Brees was setting all those records by himself, did you? Colston ranks eighth in receiving yardage since he entered the league in 2006, and he has five 1,000-yard seasons in that time frame, tied with Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, Reggie Wayne and Roddy White for the most in the league. He has ranked in the top 15 among wide receivers in DYAR five times and in the top seven three times. Yet he's ranked only No. 28 among WRs.
Obviously, Colston benefits from playing with a good quarterback in a high-powered offense, but can't you say the same about Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson or Wes Welker? Realistically, Colston is a tier below players of that caliber, but he'd still be the top wideout on about half the teams in the league.
Colston was ranked #28 by ESPN regarding WR rankings in another link....2 spots behind Devin Hester

Must be an insider to see both. (sorry guys)

Are those really the type of stupid articles someone gets to read if they're an espn insider?? yikes! sounds like a rip off if you ask me. I can barely stand to read anything they have to say... let alone pay for it.

Its not very expensive at all, but yes i agree. Maybe i should save the $4 or whatever i spend because a lot of what I read is usually crap.
