Did Lee play in San Diego game last night? Was he hurt or is this bad sign?

They were trying to get Whitehurst back up to speed after his injury, but I would have thought Lee could get 2 series or so.

This was expected. The first week of preseason the starter never goes more than a series or two. The Chargers #2 qb was injured. Therefore, J Lee got the unique chance to play most of the first preseason game. This week, Rivers needed more reps, and the #2 was available to play. I guess the Chargers needed the #2 to catch up on his missed reps from the previous week. J Lee may still be in line for a #3/practice squad spot.

But J-Lee still has a shot as No. 3 or practice squad, which to be honest with you I did not think he could accomplish. And I would be very happy to be wrong and if he makes it.
I thought it interesting he was still bailing or turning away after his throws when someone gets near him, even slightly near. He somehow is still pretty accurate even when he does that which amazes me.

He had a really good game last week, so Norv benched him this week without explanation. Les told them he found it was the best way to keep JL motivated.

He finished the game by taking a knee

However anyone wants to spin this thing and however much this upsets anyone on several levels, the fact is that is some cruel irony.
I doubt Turner had any idea.

Turner just made the decision that Lee needed to play Les.

Whitehurst has pics of Norv Turner is the only reasonable explanation.

Lee already locked up the starting job. This game was about who is backing him up. It looks like Clipboard Jesus has the inside track on the Rivers guy.
