Really wanna make some Cajun boiled peanuts this year...but I've never tried boiling peanuts. Tips and "recipes" would be appreciated.

Go buy green peanuts. Boil for 1.5 hours or so.
Put a cup or so of salt in at the end. Add a little crab boil also. If you think they are done(tender) turn off and let soak for 25-30 minutes.
Times and amounts vary per boil size, but this is about it.

I got some green peanuts from Southside produce last week and did them in a crock pot. Not too much salt, lots of chili flake/cayenne. Good ish

Do you all do the crock pot because you can leave it on all day or something?
I've never done them that way. Just always onthe stove on a Saturday or Sunday.

i normally buy a sack every year and boil them. boil for 1.5 to 2 hours in a crawfish burner and pot. Use one jug of the crawfish powder seasoning. Soak for as long as you like, the longer the better. Freeze in ziploc bags. Also add a little bottle of liquid crab boil while soaking. Enjoy

Yep, boiled peanuts means it's football season. Cook em almost every Saturday while watching gameday.

Boil for 1.5 hours to 2 hours when you cut them off let them soak for about 4 hours. Just like crawfish let them soak till they sink!!!!!
Not sure about the seasoning but i think my brother in law uses the powder and liquid along with salt.
