Cross-posted from the soccer board. Anyone know of any bars that open early (9 am) in Houston on Saturdays? Trying to find a place to go to watch opening weekend for premier league. TIA.

I saw the other board already said Richmond Arms. Great location but gets crowded quickly. Bar Munich in midtown often opens early for matches, and they put a schedule on their site. Not 9am start though.

Think there is some law with how early they can sell booze. Might just be on Sundays and I think it might not matter if you sell food.

That's why I asked too, I don't know the particulars of the law, only that I can't buy beer at the Whole Foods by my house before 12 oclock Saints games. Posted in the other thread too, any info you on Stag's Head Pub or Saint Dane's (random google brought those up in an article from 2 years ago about where to watch world cup games).

Good ole Griffs, had some good St Patrick days there, but still nothing compared to the party here in NOLA.

You can basically sell from 7-2 every day but Sunday. I think Sunday you can open at 10 and serve until 2. Every time you open before noon, you must provide some kind of food, but the customers don't have to eat. That's a full bar. If you have only ice house with beer and wine, you can only be open and serve the same hours as a convenience/grocery store.

I've been there a couple of times but only recently and only when Ice House closes. We walk to Poison Girl a lot too (live in that general area). Those dudes with the tamales are great.
