The Eagles also have a special teams newcomer of note in Tom Wing, the brother of former PBS standout and current LSU punter Brad Wing.

If we can just find two more of them we'll have our own version of the Colquits.

The Wings need a few more alcohol-related offenses under their belt to rival the Colquits.

Brad will, most likely, be punting in the NFL next season

Yeah, I've also heard the new Aussie is a beast. I don't know about the directional punting, but some are saying maybe a better leg than Wing..But just rumor..

I'd say he's about 90% gone. He's old for his class, already the best at his position, not bound to improve his draft stock by much, and by many accounts hates going to school.

Don't see it happening. Janikowski left school early, but he was likely to be kicked out of FSU anyway. And he was a PK, not a punter. Highest drafted punters were Ray Guy in the 1st back in the day, Todd Sauerbrun in the second and Anger in the 3rd.

People keep saying he won't leave because his draft position won't be that great. Well it's never going to be that great so that's probably not a factor in the decision.

He's leaving after this year.

If he's not leaving for the draft, why stay in school this year? Go bum around Europe for a year, play in the CFL, ride the rails, run drugs in Mexico, whatever.

If he's 1) Not worried about his draft status and 2) not trying to get his degree...why be in school and play football at all?

Because he is not eligible for the NFL this season and he prefers playing at LSU to those options.

Brad will go pro after this season and I thank him for his awesome performances for LSU.

I'm not angry at him at all. This is his best choice for this season. Next season he will kick for pay.

I've see projections with him in the 3rd round. Good bye and thanks for the memories unless he completely tanks this year and maybe even then. It's not some secret that he's planning to go after this year. It's the plan and the reason Keene was brought in so quickly. The coaches are prepared for the scenario they know will happen.
