Drive a few minutes to Cafe Tango for upscale though you need a reservation. Cafe 30 A is pretty good, too.

Great Southern Cafe is a must. They have an EXCELLENT fried oyster po-boy and the gouda-grits are to die for. Oysters on the half shell are always good too.
For upscale dining - Caliza in Alys Beach. Bar none.
ETA: Bar pickings are slim if you want to stay out late. Caliza has a nice bar. Then there is Bud & Alley's (stays open late which is a plus). There is also The Naked Grape in Santa Rosa...nice and laid back...live music every night too...and it stays open late.
