Could Malko be taking the place of Strong Belwas?

That's what I was thinking. That he at the very least was a condensed character.
And pre-ordered my World of Ice and Fire today. Getting the SO a copy too (shhhh don't tell him).

I need to order mine too. I'm guessing Amazon has a better price than B&N.

Looks like D&D are going full speed ahead. And hopefully that means the Dany & Tyrion storylines won't be as shitty since they'll be meeting up.

Agreed. They could cut that shite by a third and get a better storyline.

Was just coming here to post this. Hopefully it is one of the last episodes as I don't want the show getting too far ahead of Winds. Has Aegon been cast? If they leave him out I'm going to really start thinking the plan is to jump the shark and do their own thing.

I've been saying for awhile that this show would get way ahead of the books, fast. There's just so much garbage in books 4 and 5 that is worthless, not good television, that could be cut.

While I agree there is a bunch that needs to be cut for TV, there is tons of good material in these 2. It took 2nd and 3rd reads to realize it, but it's in there. The show simply cannot cover history, prophecies, and to connect all the dots like the book can. The books give you a chance to figure things out on your own. The show just kinds of throws it at you.

I'm really glad that the opening scene will be the Cersei flashback.
Posted on 10/21/14 at 11:58 am to ladytiger118
Definitely. Flashbacks could be great if they did them correctly. I will hold out hope for ToJ until the series is officialy over with. Would be an amazing scene for book readers, though not sure how much the Hodors could appreciate it.

Could you imagine the show trying to let the Hodors figure things out on their own ?
Posted on 10/21/14 at 12:30 pm to PsychTiger
Yeah because it's proven successful so far .

Essos has bottled water! Might be good for helping stop the spread of pale mare.
Dinklage looks like a damn hobbit in that pic.
So no Penny which I don't have a problem with, but I wonder what they are doing with Jorah if Tyrion is skipping the whole mercenary company stuff and hanging with Daenerys?

It's ridiculous that they are just basically gonna skip two whole books just because they don't like it. I'm officially done with the show. I'll go back and watch it after the books are finished.
D&D are a couple of assholes for doing that. It's like with that guy being cast in a role that's not in the books. Um so when they leave out LSH or strong Belwas or any other badass character, they use the excuse, " oh we don't have the funds to have all these characters". Yet they have money to make shite up? Nah. Just a lie.
Same with speeding up and doing everything they can to destroy GRRMs life's work by beating him to the end. The series is amazing. Everyone would agree that it's one of the greatest stories they've ever read. Why do you want to hurry up and get to the end? Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Honestly I can't get enough. If GRRM wrote 10 more books, that would be just fine with me

Has anyone gotten The World of Ice and Fire yet? Mine won't come in from Amazon until Tuesday but I've read that supposedly Target has the book on shelves already.

On another note, I think I've figured out who the Valonqar is. I know I'm not the first to think of this. But in reading the Maggy the Frog prophesy recently due to the news of it coming to the small screen, it just kinda made sense to me.
Here's the prophesy:
Three questions you may ask,” the crone said, once she'd had her drink. “You willl not like my answers. Ask, and begone with you.”
1. Cersei: “When will I wed the prince?”
Maggy: “Never. You will wed the king.”
2. Cersei: “I will be queen though?”
Maggy: “Aye.” Malice gleamed in Maggy's yellow eyes. “Queen you shall be... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.”
3. Cersei: “Will the king and I have children?”
Maggy: “Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you.”
The old woman was not done with her, however. “Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds, she said. And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.”
- AFOC, ch. 36
So the prophecy is Cercei will marry the king (confirmed), til another, younger and more beautiful comes along (partially confirmed) and she will have 3 golden haired children who will all die and be wrapped in golden shrouds. Then THE Valonqar, in the context of Cercei's children, will strangle her to death.
I think the fact that she says THE Valonqar when she is talking about Cercei's children, and not YOUR Valonqar, means that Tommen will be the one to kill Cercei. Everyone is expecting Jamie or Tyrion to be the one but as we know with this series, expect the unexpected. There's also too much reference to how sweet and good Tommen is. No way he is that good and sweet coming from the awful people he comes from. It would have a tremendous shock value, which suits this series as well.
Thoughts?

Wasn't Cersei older than Jaime by a little bit? I take it to mean that maybe Jaime is the younger and somehow more beautiful and that his 16 kids could all just be different bastards of his, therefore he will kill Cersei.
