I just use my podcast app to download it, but I found this LINK
Just got done with the Melisandre one. For someone is not a total crackpot, it gives me a good overview of theories and backs them up with textual clues.

Robert loved Lyanna so much, too though. Would he try to kill her son, even he was a Targ?
Yes, but he wouldn't have to, someone would have done it for him.

I think he would do it secretly, and if he wouldn't, Tywin would most certainly have had Jon killed.

Robert wasn't the type to do things in secret.
If he would've found out that Ned has been keeping the son of his greatest enemy from him then there would've been war. Ned would be the only person who could've possibly talked him down and I don't think Robert would have listened to reason even then.

Except the plan to kill Dany was kind of a secret.

Yeah but sending an entire army across the sea isn't really reasonable as she wouldn't be a real threat until landing in Westeros. Easier to send an assassin that they weren't expecting. Would've worked too if Ser Friendzone hadn't intervened.

The first time it wasn't, it was no secret that he sent Stannis.

Season 4 finale mance and jon drank together. Mance called it a "proper northern drink". Was there any reference in the books as to what this drink was. I'd like a proper northern drink this Saturday night.

Not really. The reason Robert hired Ned as his Hand was because he couldn't trust anyone else on his small council.
What did he do when he found out Dany was pregnant? He ranted and raved so loud to that same small council that even the servants outside the room could hear him. I wouldn't call that a secret

I figured that, especially since Tyrion has a ridiculous amount of plot armor.

What would've happened had Robert found out that Jon was actually a Targaryen?
It's an interesting question because you don't know whether Robert would be town between knowing he's Lyanna's son and knowing he's a threat to the crown.
quote:
Would it have come to war between the House Stark and the House Baratheon?
Possibly. But I contend that the Starks would've been able to rally more banners to fight for Jon then Robert would have. Part of Robert's claim to the throne was his ties to the Targaryens via his Grandmother.
quote:
Where would House Arryn have placed their allegiance?
IMO because Jon was married to Catelyn's sister, I don't know that he backs Robert. Especially if they see that the Starks could call a larger force.
quote:
Who would win?
If it went down as I thought above, the Starks and Jon.

Jon Arryn was every bit the surrogate father to Robert as he was to Ned though and he was also living in Kings Landing at the time. It wouldn't have been an easy choice

Does anyone have a PDF of the Princess and the queen? TIA
Snatchy... I have it. Pretty sure I still do at least. Gimme your email and I'll send it to you.
And iluv...GRRM also has written a bunch short stories that take place in Westeros. But they take place in a different time and era than ASOIAF. Tales of Dunk and Egg is awesome. Everyone that loves ASOIAF should read those. They are 3 short stories but really awesome and goes into detail on some important events.
