Exactly, that would throw in 3 episodes worth of scenes in King's Landing. I guess Jaime could tell Ser Illyn why he joined the Kingsguard, but I think it would be better and more personal if he told it to Tyrion.

Agreed.

Are they going to start Jaime's AFFC story in the Riverlands this season since there's pictures of Brienne and Pod hanging out? (Please, I hope the writers condense Brienne's story...I half-assed read her chapters and don't even remember who Nimble Dick was and don't remember much until they got to the Quiet Isle/saw Sandor and met Stoneheart).

Or do you think they're going to wait for his parley with the Blackfish and Edmure in season 5?

No, because they need Jaime to release Tyrion and tell him that Tysha was exactly who she said she was.

I'm guessing Jaime's story is going to kind of be in the background this season (like Tyrion's last season, but maybe they could add scenes with Cersei and show how much he's changed and her fricking the Kettleblacks?). And if they're going to speed up Brienne story, he could go do his PR in the Riverlands at the beginning of season 5, meet Brienne in season 5, cliffhanger leaving with Brienne (since he doesn't meet Stoneheart yet but will in TWoW)?

It wouldn't shock me if in Season 5 they get into Jaime's arc of WoW. Honestly I think it's bullshite GRRM left us on that cliffhanger with Jaime. They should have ended it with him confronting Stoneheart regardless of his fate. I also think he should have given us a Sansa chapter as well. These are the two characters I could see the makers of the show moving into WoW territory next season, since I think they'll combine AFFC and ADWD mostly into one season.

I also think that it's bullshite that Jaime only had 1 POV in ADWD and Sansa/Alayne had ZERO. I know a lot of book fans don't like Sansa but I think her chapters in ASoS and AFFC are very, very, fascinating, and it's good to know what Littlefinger has up his sleeve. It's sad that no new Sansa material has been released since 2005. I feel even worse for the fans who had to wait around for Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Bran, and the regulars who had a gap from 2000-2011 . I'm hoping the Fat One has TWoW out in no less than 2 years from now, which would be Fall 2015. If he's serious about not having the show catch up to him then he needs the book out in Fall 2014 (I'm not optimistic for that).

Alot of people come in here saying Sansa chapters are unbearable and I have to do a double take. Sansa's chapters are some of the best in the series. It's really refreshing to go from her entirely naive viewpoint to seeing the world for what it really is. Even in earlier GoT chapters, I love her POV Chapters just because of how naive she is on how everything works, and it makes it all the more satisfying once she figures it out. I don't mind Sansa as a character, and interesting things always surround her.

I honestly don't know how they tolerated it. I'm going nuts, and it's been less than a year since I finished ADWD.

I'm hoping Fall 2014, and then ADOS 2017, but it's a long shot.

I laugh at the people who say that Sansa's chapters suck...Dany's in ADWD, Brienne in AFFC, and some of the Bran chapters when he's on the road are booooorrrrinnnngggggg. I don't think I've ever felt bored to tears or fallen asleep reading a Sansa chapter. Plus, I'd think that most of the fans would be dying to know what Littlefinger's current schemes are. I'm curious as to whether GRRM ever releases a "chapter list" right before the books come out or if he keeps everything secret except for the not-so-intense chapters he reads at conventions. Since I wasn't watching the show in 2011 (didn't watch S1 till 2 months before S2 came on), I want to know what kind of process GRRM goes through several months leading up to the actual release. Like when does he actually confirm the official, definitive, final release date (which I know for ADWD was moved back a lot and pissed off fans).

Agreed. I can't think of a similar cliffhanger in the entire series other than Jon Snow in ADWD, which makes it even worse because there were TWO huge cliffhangers. It just feels off from the rest of the books. Almost like he wasn't sure which way we he wanted to go yet, so gave himself room to change things up.

That would have been like ending ASOS with The Hound axing Arya

Given the time he takes to write these books, I just really don't think that's fair to us as readers.

The whole point of Nimble Dick in the book was just a time killer and a device to show Brienne's internal conflict about making her first kill IMO (aside from some minor novelty background on the area like Crackclaw Point and The Whispers). Dick leading her to the Brave Companions (who aren't even really a factor in the series anyway) and putting Brienne in a kill or be killed situation was the incredibly drawn out point.

But that is all completely irrelevant in the series, as she's already killed several people and showed absolutely no hesitation and didn't seem to have any impact on her whatsoever. The show made it seem like she was already a battle hardened killer.

I'm fine with that, but I just don't think the series can re-create what those chapters were all about in the books, which didn't amount to much anyway. They're going to have to get very creative to give any of that meaning, which is why I think they'll be left out all together.

I think they'll pretty much focus on her time at Maidenpool with Hyle Hunt as a romantic interest, and introducing that badass that is Randyll Tarly (has he been cast yet??) which I think can be very effective if the Hodors can 1) realize that he's Sam's dad and 2) remember how Sam said his father would kill him if he didn't join the Watch.

The Quiet Isle scene is going to be tricky too, because obviously the viewers would recognize The Hound/Gravedigger the second he's shown on screen. If our theories are correct, GRRM better hurry or his big reveal will have the wind taken out of his sails.

And I'm betting her big fight with Rorge and Biter won't even be this season but will be pushed to Season 5. And I have no idea how Gendry will be back with the BWOB to save her as she's being mutilated by Biter. I suppose they could just replace him with Thoros who can then take her to Stoneheart, but I always liked that Gendry, who had been so close to Arya, saved her since she's looking for Arya/Sansa.

Honestly, as good as the series has been with the major POV characters, there is a lot that needs to be sorted out with some of the secondary POVs like Brienne, Davos, Asha, and all the new characters like the Dornish, Iron Islanders, and Connington and Quentin.

Tons of stuff to get to.

I don't envy the showrunners. They've already deviated from the books and to be able to continue to at least somewhat follow the narrative of the story when it comes to new characters is going to be a monumental task.

Yeah, I don't think Gendry will be in season 4 but I picture him being in season 5. And I hope that if Randyll isn't in this season that he'll being in season 5. I'm guessing the Dornish AFFC chapters won't be until season 5 either? I haven't heard any news about Doran, Arianne, Trystane, Arys Oakheart, Areo Hotah, Darkstar, etc. being cast or Myrcella being recast or using the same actress.

I honestly doubt they'll get to Dorne in Season 5. It doesn't directly affect current events of the story. Theon's didn't this season, and see how frustrated a lot of the Hodors got.

I think the Hodors will be frustrated that in S4 and S5 a lot of characters will be introduced . But I think they forget that Cat and Robb's storyline is done so (obviously) some new ones will come to the forefront.

Ahhh, I forgot about that. When she said "Bye Belfast" I wasn't sure if it meant that they wrapped filming and is heading back to LA where she lives or if it meant they were flying back to Croatia? She didn't specify on photo but her word choice made it seem like they were done filming (but isn't it too soon for them to be finished)??
