She's 36 and looks it really, way too old. Pedro Pascal, who is playing the Viper is 38, and also looks it. It would be ridiculous for Arianne and her uncle to be so close in age.
Like lady said, 10 years ago she'd have been perfect, now not so much.

No idea why I was allowed to watch this movie as a child
It was a damn good movie and one of Disney's finest.

Sweet. She was a great actress on Rome and I was hoping she'd get cast as one of the Martells.

I'm assuming the Oakheart guy is reprising his role?

Well since they killed off 4 starring characters last season (Mormont, Robb, Catelyn, and Talisa), who do you think they'll promote to series regulars? My bet:
Brienne (I'm surprised she wasn't billed as this last season)
The Red Viper
Asha
Ramsay

She'll merely be recurring. I don't think we'll see her at all until the final scene of the 4th Season. I think we'll have hints of her being out there, with rumors of Lord Beric marrying Lady Stoneheart, but we won't see her until the end.

I wouldn't consider Oberyn a starring character. JMO

Honestly, I think they have to make him a starring character, just to make killing him off all the more shocking to the viewers. You have to approach this character as if he is the second most important character in King's Landing after Tyrion. I'd go so far as to give him the final credit with "and" like they did with Peter Dinklege in the first season.

Yeah, I can see the show doing that. The book certainly didn't give him a starring character feel. He had like 3 or 4 parts in ASoS IIRC. I remember thinking when he died, "WTF? That's it? He's done?"

I think they did alright with him. I was just assuming that the Red Viper would kill the Mountain, and Tyrion would be off to Dorne with the Red Viper and actively plotting Myrcella's ascent to the throne.

The Red Viper should pretty much be the Ned of this season.

That's what I'm thinking. First 3 episodes give him a major scene and conversation with Tyrion in each episode, as well as having a scene with him staring down and not backing down on Tywin to let you know this guy isn't fricking around.

Same here .
I can picture the show runners creating extra scenes for him...a la Loras and Renly. Except they'll do a threesome scene with him and Ellaria probably and expand upon his bisexual manwhore tendencies.

I really hope they don't show a bisexual scene with him. Tyrion could talk about that with his father just as easily and much less uncomfortably. The Red Viper isn't up in King's Landing to frick around, he's there for justice.
