So i've read all the books twice
read the dunk and egg stories
read every piece of info i can get on upcoming books
watched every episode of the series
is it still too late for me to join this thread?
i mean almost 200 pages
no way i could read all that
thats almost 4000 posts, even george rr martin would consider that too long of a read

Sounds like you're in the perfect spot to join the party -
Yeah, we've weaved a lengthy yarn so far, so speaking collectively (how dare I!) I can say with comfort we don't expect everyone to read the whole thread before posting, but I would recommend you read it page by page at leisure, as you keep current from this point on.
You may come across an answer before posting the question, or develop questions from already covered ground the rest of us didn't see.
So if you have a burning question, fire away.

Cotton needs to index the OP at some point, as he birthed this monster, for the sake of reference points for newcomers if nothing else.
One day, we can condense this into a book. Kingbob already gave us the title.

what we saw in the show was Davos and Melisandre's shadow baby scene being portrayed as the shadow that kills Renly at the parlay. since we are past the Storm's End and Blackwater scenes, i assume Edric won't be brought up

Combining edric and Gendry into one character makes so much sense it makes me wonder why Martin made them separate in the books.

I think the Edric Storm story was more to emphasize the power/importance of kings blood and magic. I really don't see his character even coming back into the books, unless at the conclusion. Gendry's story on the other hand I think has a lot of potential, but it wouldn't make sense for him to have been used by Stannis and Mel as one of Roberts bastards because he was at Harrenhall or on the road at that time so they just needed another character.
...On another note: does anyone else think that the Dunk and Egg novels are going to play an important enough role in the current storyline (specfically the Tragedy of Summerhall) that it is part of the reason its taking so long to write everything up or is it just going to be a back story that has really no impact on the ASOIAF series? I get the feeling that maybe Egg sent Bloodraven up to the Wall for a reason other than just as a member of the "Honor Guard"...the Targaryens were known for having prophetic dreams so maybe one of them saw what was going to happen in regards to The Others or something else.

I wouldn't know where to fricking begin but if anyone wants to help me on this massive undertaking I will gladly attempt.

I just hope that at least Gendry plays a part from here on out. Sometimes it kind of looks like he's not got much more of a storyline to go. There are so many characters floating around now that it seems like some of them may get a bit of the short shrift.

Speaking of loose ends what are the chances that Stannis's knight (can't remember his name) makes it back from across the narrow sea in time to be of importance? I'm thinking slim to none

No the one he sent with the guy from the Iron Bank. He was sent to go get mercenarys for Stannis or his daughter if Stannis is dead
