I think at this point there's been too much emphasis placed on the prophecy by Maggy the Frog about the valonqar.

Now the Hound (little brother) killing Ceresi could jive with that.

Is Jaime younger than her but a few minutes?

It is aggravating because it doesn't specify that it is her younger brother just a younger brother.

Yep.

I mean it's like every other prophecy in the books, in that it's vague for that very reason. We could probably go all night about what the three heads of the dragon are too for the same reason.

I think Jaime is going to be too obvious though. Plus I tend to think he ends up dying saving Brienne just because of the way that arc has gone.

...and what the frick happened to Jojen?

God damn it.

Y'know.. I hope Jon is dead... because it would pave the way for an epic rape of the seven kingdoms at the hands of the Others... and those assholes would have nobody to blame but themselves.

Jojen paste. I'm convinced.

I have a feeling this is coming either way. At least to enough of a degree that it's going to flip the script on all the players for the throne.

Who do you think Varys is addressing in the trailer?

I'm guessing Tyrion in regards to either Cersei or his father.

Best. Short-lived. Character. Ever.

Agreed why hasn't he been cast yet as far as we know? That would have been awesome to just briefly see him in the trailer.

I'm thinking Cersei sends some soldiers after Jaime and Brienne, and Brienne is killed, so Jaime then seeks his revenge.

It's possible I guess. They've already bled content over from ASoS into the 2nd season and I'm sure they're going to want to keep Alfie Allen on screen as much as possible (like they did with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau this last season).

The Bastard is cast for this season, and Alfie Allen is listed for the first episode (not that this totally means he's in there of course). So the Bastard will definitely be showing up this season, which would mean Reek pretty much has to.

And from a timeline perspective there is no reason not to have it happen.

I'd be willing to bet money that starting next season, we will see complete blending of the books and it will be all retold in Benioff/Weiss' way. We will still have all the major events happen and I still think it will be great, though. It's a very well-done show and the showrunners really love the story. I have no problem with them just mixing 2nd half of SOS and AFFC/ADWD all together

I actually enjoy them taking some liberties in the series because it's nice to still be surprised by how things may end up on the show. JMO though. I know there are some people who hate it being even a little bit away from the source material.

The scenes between Arya and Tywin this last season give me hope that Benioff/Weiss can absolutely pull off a not-completely-true-to-the-page adaptation.

Agreed, those interactions were actually some of the best parts of season 2.

There is really no other way they can swing it as a tv show IMO. They clearly can't have half the cast disappear for a season at a time, so I think you are right on with what we will see. And the story will flow better with AFFC and ADWD mixed together anyway. Not having Theon and Bran completely disappear for a ton of time will flow better as well.

It's unfortunate but it's just not even remotely feasible to be completely true to page with this series. Just too much detail, budget constraints, balancing actor's screen time, etc.

I do wish they would have shown Tywin learning that Arya had disappeared from KL. You know he would have kicked himself.

That would be a travesty. Brienne is such a horrible character.

The only deviation from the books that I'm truly disappointed about is the exclusion of all the prophecies. Because if most of our legit theories come to fruition (or even if just a handful come to fruition) then it's going to come completely out of left field for the illiterate viewers and that's a shame IMO.

The beauty and genius of this series is the extremely fine line GRRM places between foreshadowing and red herrings. He constantly gives you hints to lead you along then blows your mind, yet when you go back and reread you realize that he's been telling you what's about to happen all along.

I just think its a shame that the viewers don't get to experience that feeling. Those "ah-ha" moments are what makes this story worth it for me.
