Dany's hair has been burned off twice, though. At the end of DwD, I think her hair is just starting to come back from Dragon burning it in the fighting pit.
Unless the blood magic is supposed to stay with her forever. I just don't see any relation between blood magic and fire resistance.

She gets in hotter than hot baths.
Her hands show no scars.
She emerges from Drogo's funeral pyre unscathed with baby dragons. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt at this point.

The blood magic in question was her sacrificing Drogo and the maegi witch who poisoned him in the fire when she hatched the dragons..
You're right.
Blood magic appears to be a necessary part of hatching a dragon.
Remember it is rumored that egg was fooling around with blood magic at summer hall when it went horribly wrong

What blood magic does Dany have?
The whole part about MMD telling her that something must die in order to give life (paraphrasing). She tied MMD up to the stake and told her thanks for teaching me that, then killed her in the fire.

Didn't Dany reach into a fire pit and grab an egg with no scaring? Her attendant had scaring on her palms. I'm pretty sure it is safe to say she is a true dragon.
Agreed. Dany is resistant to fire and heat. She's a true dragon, and I think Jon will be the same.

This is from the Citadel's FAQ section. I tried to find Martin's actual comment they're basing this on but I'm not sure how to search the So Spake Martin section.

But Dany picking up the egg that burned the slave girl was in the book, right?
Here we go:

3.5. ARE TARGARYENS IMMUNE TO FIRE? GRRM has firmly stated that what happened with Daenerys at the end of A Game of Thrones was a unique event (SSL. EHC). That said, in A Dance with Dragons, it does seem that Daenerys has at least some supernatural protection from fire. While her hands are burned and blistered and her hair burned away, neither her scalp or any other part of her body was injured by her experience with Drogon’s fire.

Lastly, some fans are reading too much into the scene in GAME OF THRONES where the dragons are born -- which is to say, it was never the case that all Targaryens are immune to all fire at all times.

Here's the one I was looking for:

Granny Do Targaryens become immune to fire once they "bond" to their dragons? George_RR_Martin Granny, thanks for asking that. It gives me a chance to clear up a common misconception. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn't immune to that molten gold.

I just finished my re-read, and I don't remember that part. The part that was in the show where the slave girl said the bath water was too hot to get in, and Dany gets in anyway, I don't think that's in it either. It would be her first chapter.

Dany didn't sacrifice Drogo, she sacrificed Rhaego to save Drogo and got ripped the hell off by that thankless witch.
But yeah...Martin's deal with Targs was to quash the argument that unless a character was fire-proof, he/she couldn't be a Targ.
I think this was in response to the Anti-R+L=J League claiming proof they were right after Jon burned his hand saving Jeor at Castle Black - it was known long before "Dragons" came out.

Right, I didn't say she did, did I?

Also, I'm not saying I'm in that camp. I just brought that up because I don't think Jon is fireproof. I'm also now, after my second GoT read, of the opinion that Daenerys was never fireproof and that Targaryens aren't either. I think she lived through the funeral pyre because of sacrificing MMD and something to do with blood magic. Not because she had "blood of the dragon"

God i would love for them to end season 3 with joffrey's wedding
they should do red wedding/ arya axe on episode 8 so everyones pissed, a little aftermath on episode 9, then episode 10, viewers find out arya is alive, and they get the much needed satisfaction of joffrey's death. jon is arrested at the wall, Tyrion is arrest, Dany does someting cliffhangery, etc etc. Season ends with sansa on the boat with LF.
"Why would I wish him dead? I had no motive. Besides, I am a thousand leagues away in the Vale. Always keep your foes confused. If they are never certain who you are or what you want, they cannot know what you are like to do next. Sometimes the best way to baffle them is to make moves that have no purpose, or even seem to work against you. Remember that, Sansa, when you come to play the game."
"What....what game?"
"The only game. The game of thrones....(spiel about him and Cat)....Put Joffrey from your mind, sweetling, Dontos, Tyrion, all of them. They will never trouble you again. You are safe now, that's all the matters. You are safe with me and sailing home."
Camera pans away, focusing on boat, then "Directed by David Benioff and DB Weiss."
It could definitely end with "The only game. The game of thrones." Would be pretty awesome imo. I think the scene will be great with these two because their respective actors are perfectly cast.
This surely wont happen, but frick it. I just think Joffrey has to die to offset the RW for the viewers.

BTW, i think they are going to do away with the Sansa/Dontos Jonquil/Florian subplot. The Season 3 premiere synopsis was leaked and is as follows:
In the books, LF tells Sansa that he used Dontos because he wouldn't dare offer her help in person because of Varys' birds. Guess they're cutting out the extra stuff
quote:
Episode 21: Jon is brought before Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall, while the Night’s Watch survivors retreat south. In King’s Landing, Tyrion asks for his reward, Littlefinger offers Sansa a way out, and Cersei hosts a dinner for the royal family. Arya runs into the Brotherhood Without Banners. Dany sails into Slaver's Bay. (Written by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss; directed by Daniel Minahan).

No doubt in my mind that Joffrey has to die or the producers will have major problems with ratings heading into season four. People lost their shite over Ned let alone Robb, Catelyn, and half of the north.

How about my idea where the Red and Purple Wedding go on at the exact same time? After Robb and Joffrey are killed, maybe do a parallel shot with Arya and Sansa, both surrounded by chaos, when Littlefinger ends the season on that note. I don't think there's any way they'll allow the season to end with Arya's suggested death.

forgot about that. that would be glorious to watch. i just think we need and episode or two for the tv-only people to take in the RW so that PW is that much better
