That's one I came up with, too. Born from the dragon being both sexes statement from M Aemon re: Dany.

But w Sandor being the VQ, the trial is what I was talking about.

It's just my default mech re: Jaime still has him as the VQ.

Martin could screw us all and make it Tyrion.

great interview w/ GRRM that discusses ASOIAF and TWOW progress as well as some other interesting insight into a few of the inspirations for the characters. Worth the time to read

[Laughes] Prophecies are, you know, a double edge sword. You have to handle them very carefully; I mean, they can add depth and interest to a book, but you don’t want to be too literal or too easy... In the Wars of the Roses, that you mentioned, there was one Lord who had been prophesied he would die beneath the walls of a certain castle and he was superstitious at that sort of walls, so he never came anyway near that castle. He stayed thousands of leagues away from that particular castle because of the prophecy. However, he was killed in the first battle of St. Paul de Vence and when they found him dead he was outside of an inn whose sign was the picture of that castle! [Laughes] So you know? That’s the way prophecies come true in unexpected ways. The more you try to avoid them, the more you are making them true, and I make a little fun with that.

Proof that the rusted sign washing up at the quiet isle means that aegon is indeed a blackfyre? Hmmm

I’ve already written 400 pages of my sixth book. However, of these 400 pages, only 200 are really finished because I still have to revise the other 200 pages, which are in a rough version and I still have to work on them a lot. But you have to keep in mind that the last book, Dance with Dragons, was 1.500 pages long and this one will be more or less the same extension, so I have a lot of work. I hope after this tour I can go back home in order to write as a possessed man. But the sixth volume won’t be released in 2012 or in 2013. I really look forward to publishing it in 2014, but I am really bad for predictions, you may know it. And then, there is another fact: when I finish this saga I will be judged for the quality of the books, not for the speed of my writing.

There was a black iron sign of a three headed dragon hanging in front of a inn. When the black fyre rebellion began the lord of that area threw the sign into the river. Years later it showed up on the quiet isle red with rust

I believe it's foreshadowing of aegon going across the sea black dragon (black fyre) and coming back older and red (targ)

I'm back for the 100th page! Missed y'all!

I can't help but wonder about Maggie's prophecy. She said the VQ was "the little brother".

Sandor is a little brother, too.

I can't remember what page we discussed it on but we fleshed that one out quite a bit. There's some theories as to Sandor fighting UnGregor at some point (maybe as champions in Ceresi's trial) and that's what will do her in.

That's also a theory that it could mean little sister instead of little brother and Arya could be the one that does it.

All kinds of good crackpot stuff.

Was me, thanks Belle

I was actually pretty encouraged when I saw that date. His last two books took almost twice as long

I thought the same. A 3 year wait for a book the quality and size of one of GRRM's isn't that bad. I can handle a 2014 release. It's a hell of a lot better than 2018-2020 which isn't an absurd prediction based off of GRRM's history.

I think he is pushing because he truly wants to finish the series. If he waits too long he will never get the chance. Though I have a feeling he already has a good portion of the last book written.
