I'm still running the triangle through Shaq. Jordan would literally average 35 on 60% shooting with all the open looks he'd get.

Shaq. Jordan would average more points but getting Shaq the ball in the post would be option #1.

My friend and I are debating this right now because I said shaq was the most physically dominating player of our lifetime (23 yrs old). And I stand by that.

Jordan was of course a better player, but there were more guys capable of guarding him than gus to guard shaq

Do you young ones recall "hack-a-Shaq"? Just find a couple old centers and try to destroy Shaq,s forearms.

Your best option can't be a liability down the stretch because he can't sink freethrows.

Jordan!

Shaq early and often, then in the second half it'd be all Jordan all the time. So if you mean #1 as in who gets the last shot with the game on the line it's Jordan.

Tell that to Phil Jackson as his 3 championships with Shaq as their primary option

this. They would have to double or triple team Shaq when the ball gets in the post. Jordan would feast on open 15 footers.

So wait, let me get this right, Jordan with prime Shaq (which was 1997-2002 btw) would widely be considered the number 2 option, but It is held against Kobe because some consider him the number 2 option while with Shaq?

Also, Kobe carried them through the meat of the playoffs in 2001-2002, ie through the West and past the Spurs. I vividly recall Shaq saying Kobe was the best player in the NBA after Kobe torched the Spurs throughout the series.

The lakers in the 4th qtr put the ball in kobe's hands and ran nothing but screen and roll.

People have already forgotten all those crucial wide open threes that fox, horry, rice, fisher, shaw, etc. got from kobe collapsing the defense.

In the 4th qtr, shaq got lobs and putbacks.

Before kobe became a prime focal point, the lakers where a first round playoff loser.

They would play inside-out. The ball goes into Shaq. He's the most dominate force to ever live. Unless we are playing Zone and Double Teams. Yea, that's how dominat Shaq was they had to change the rules.

Even if it was a lesser big man like Patrick Ewing. A great big man should always be the number 1 option.
