The wife and I are considering building a cabina style outdoor kitchen with built-in gas grill, refrigerator, ice maker, beverage center with sink. We hope to use only high end products and this is all new to me. Any brands we should consider or stay away from?

My only advice is to not buy Viking as it is the most over priced consumer product known to man.

Was considering a Viking grill, it is priced within a few hundred dollars of Sub-zero, Alfresco, Fire Magic and Lynx. Considering a Perlick refrigerator and have heard horror stories about small ice makers.

Dacor is pretty solid.

I have been involved in quite a few installations of this brand.

I have Dacor inside and in outside kitchen. Love it and no problems. 8 years old now.

Go with steel stud and hardie board cabs, with stucco finish

Wont burn/rott.

Just gotta 42 inch BBQ Guys pit.

Check out Hasty Bake, they got some good pits.

Just a tip.

I love my outdoor sink, However it can be a pain in the arse. You may want to consider thermostat controlled heat trace for a hard freeze come winter.

Just use pex, it doesn't crack in a freeze like PVC.

Depends on what you like to cook the most of.

We just started selling Saber infrared grills and they are pretty badass to take the place of a gas grill. No flare ups. And we do custom kitchens...forget the brand name, but it's all prebuilt and shipped out to us or the customer and then installed...basically just drops in place and bolts in.

Also, a custom kitchen built around a BGE is pretty sweet.

My dad's outdoor kitchen has a Louisiana Grills wood pellet grill, two side burners, sink, ice machine, warming tray, a few storage cabinets and a boiling area (bricked off with firestones and has a natural gas line hooked to a burner) that has a removable top so it can still be used as a counter-top.

We have one, and it's now at our camp and rarely gets used. Thing would flare pretty bad. I'll admit, my old man doesn't care for gas grills in general though.

I have a Gaggenau electric deep fryer built in and it's perfect. It requires 220 though so bear that in mind. I have a 52" Viking natural gas that works great. Good regulation, minimal flare up and big enough to cook whatever you like. Only problem I've had is the igniter going out but I've had that on every grill I've ever owned. I just use the aim and flame. I have a duel Viking side burner that is good as well. All of these are 12 years old and I don't see why I can't get quite a few more years out of them. I have the egg as well. I also have a Manitowoc 400 lb commercial ice machine which is 10 years old as well with no problems. This brand has a great performance rating and a great warranty. I have a duel mop sink and a large dishwasher for big pots. I went cheap on this and it gets a ton of use. Beat up but works fine. It will be the item I'll have to replace.
