I'm glad we lost Liggins. We didn't need a dumb and Lazy QB. He gained over 20 lbs of gut during the time when most top rated atheletes are killing themselves to draw offers from colleges. At the time in his life where he had to work and keep his weight in check he gained weight. He's a D-lineman.

Thomas is who I really wanted, he probably would have been behind clement. Dude was a beast and had hands.

Will we still recruit Thomas while he's still in JUCO?

Absolutely, he is a big time talent.

Maybe, we don't have a history of following recruits to JUCO if we miss out on them.

On the bright side, early word is that Dillon Gordon has been one of the real early surprises at camp. Probably needs to shed 10 or 15 pounds, but supposedly he's tearing it up at 280 and has good hands.

Probably not

I don't think it's that clear. We weren't recruiting him for this year; he would have redshirted. If he doesn't make it by spring then he absoluted won't be here though.

I suppose you mean signees.

I remember the 2010 class, we had Justin Hunter and Mike Davis at one point. They both were casualties to other programs. We also had Delino Deshields and Dextor Blackmon, both of whom never made it to campus.

That's why I said probably not, not definitely not. Coaches wanted to get him in this fall BADLY. I don't know if they want to take him in the spring for 2 to play 2. He will not play football this fall, which could be really bad. Coaches wanted to get him into the S&C program and get him up to snuff this fall.

Neither signed with LSU (football in the case of Deshields).

Zach Lee was the only signee from that class to not make it in (MLB). Porter also didn't make it in THAT year but came on the year after.

If you are asking if LSU has ever had three or more academic non-qualifiers in one recruiting class the answer would be yes.

In the 80's and 90's I would venture to say we probably had several classes like that. I can remember classes where the highest ranked recruits didn't make it and never made it to LSU.

A guy from Illinois and one from Houston in around 1986 both never qualified.

I have serious doubts that Fanaika is taken again. It was imperative that he get in the strength program and start learning the system. The other downside is that he couldn't graduate from a JC on time. Why would we assume he could pass at LSU? Lots of risk with him. I'd have no issue taking him back but I have doubts it happens.

Thomas likely comes down to how we look for hs TEs in next years class. If we land Washington and say Blazevich, Thomas is a no go. Would love to have him this year. Love his talent.
