Unisom is a good over the counter sleep aid

This is more or less what I'm looking for, a good, over-the-counter sleep aid not named melatonin.

Apparently nyquil has a new product called Zzzzquil. Now medication, non-habit forming.

Do not have experience with it though.

Somas are muscle relaxers, correct? I may have to get my hands on some of those.

Yes!

It's funny how people mention these antihistamines; trust me, these are wayyy more likely to cause sedation in the morning.

Diphenhydramine same thing as Benadryl. They also make Unisom, Doxylamine. It's chemically similar but more potent (has a phenyl group attached to its structure)

Both will cause next day sedation but I believe Doxylamine is the best option.

ZZZZYQUL AND NYQUIL ARE THE SAME. DIPHENHYDRAMINE is the only thing making you sleepy.

DPH and doxy, that's it in terms of potent OTC meds.

I took zzzquil last night. It wasn't bad, worked decently.

Im used to Ambien, never had any functioning problems after taking Ambien, always felt great of I got my 8 hours of sleep.

The thing with that is not using it everyday so you don't have tolerance build up nor develop withdrawal symptoms. I'd encourage doctors to write #15, the other 15 days -- try the other methods.

I've slept this way my entire life. I hate staying at hotels because I miss this so much!

I'm big into sleep. Have nice sheets, expensive mattress, and the window unit above my bed. I don't take any pills before going to sleep. I get 8 hours, give or take every night. I exercise then take a shower before bed every night. Perfect.

Except zzzzyquil doesn't have the cough medicine in it, which I assume makes it a little cheaper

Aha. Smoother med.

All antihistamines are considered very, very mild antidepressants because they work on the serotonin system, e.g. take tricyclic antidepressants (amitryptiline [Elavil]), they're all antihistamines. So are some antipsychotics (Seroquel) Stronger stuff than most people think.
