Any chance the coaches move Paul Turner to DB to add depth in the secondary?

He came in listed as an athlete and the coaches had to decide between WR or DB when he arrived last year.

Currently listed at WR.

I like the idea personally but I don't believe it would happen.

Here's another question to add.

Would he be considered on special teams?

I think it would be an excellent question to ask Miles at his next presser.

..with graduation, transfers, and now this, we are extremely thin in the secondary.

Should've been a cb from day 1 IMO

Turner could be a candidate. But someone who might be an even better candidate is Fobbs. He doesn't appear to be in the WR rotation, and with Landry, OBJ, Wright and Boone ahead of him, plus Leslie and Diarse coming in next season, Fobbs may not see the field this year or next.

If I'm him, and the staff asks me to move to CB, I take it. Anything to get on the field. Yes, there would be a transition period, but the staff recruited him originally for DB, so they at least thought he had the skillset for CB. It was Fobbs who insisted on WR, and the staff came around to it.

Good point. He could at least lend depth to the CB position and I doubt he ever gets into the rotation at WR with the talent coming in

Yup

He should leap at the chance to move IMO.

I thought about this, but it seems late in the game for this season, no?

Are there enough reps to get him ready?

Why wait?

A good chance we lose Simon after this season along with Reid at Safety.

I haven't seen Turner mentioned at all in the WR depth chart.

We had 2 guys transfer, so im thinking mills and collins were already going to see significant pt. Also micah eugene listed at 5 11 is our smallest safety. The coaches are impressed with sandolph so eugen seems like the best guy to give cb reps to. Fobbs wouldnt see much ot so why not give those reps if needed to thomas? Hes going to aleady have to play next year and maybe this year.

Also with the lb core we have we will be running more base. Tahj Jones is basically the size of reid so he should be fine in coverage. So in that scenario you only have 4 dbs on the feild. Leaves Martin, Eugene, Mills, and Thomas as the next 4 up. Unless Loston isnt good to go than obviously martin plays safety and sandolph could be ur 4th. Also raymond may not be ready, but has elite speed that cant be coached.

To keep this on the first page.

Turner and Fobbs seem like the obvious choices to move.
