How many of you are- in a way- actually relieved?

Please don't take this the wrong way. Strangely enough, I was worried that it might have been someone else.

I'm not going to lie- but for a split second I was concerned we were about to have a repeat of something that happened prior to 2008. That's not a reflection on anyone- just the observation that things happen- and that I do not think today's situation was nearly as bad as it could have been....

Well they anxiety I had about something like this happening is gone.

Unfortunately, anguish and disappointment have set in.

Hopefully this is the only distraction like this that we have to deal with

id initially heard through sources that a player was kicked off the team for drug use, but was told it was either ware or mettenberger

so im REALLY glad it wasnt mett, but i wouldve preferred for it to be ware

nothing against ware, im a huge fan

but we have like eleventy bajillion great running backs

I'm just relieved that it happened now while they still have a few weeks left in camp to get somebody ready to step in.

I am more much more just sad about this than relieved, because I feel like the opportunity to watch a player who was on track to be one of the all-time greats at LSU was abruptly cut short. Like Cecil the Diesel, TM7 will be more legendary for "what could have been" and not for what was. I think it sucks.

To me it wasn't a matter of "if", it was a matter of "when". That "when" is now gone and we can move on.

You kind of said what I didn't want to; I was scared that it involved our starting QB.

I have faith that the kid has changed his ways- and take him at his word. But I can't deny that was my first concern when I heard it was a major announcement involving a player. Things happen.

It's a sad situation, of course- but I believe the other scenario would have been much worse....

In that regard, I am relieved.

I'm slightly relieved. Dude was a hell of a ball hawk...but an overrated cover...his height was definitely abused in the NC game. I'm ceratain that was in most folks game plans.

I thought he had learned his lesson last year and I did not see it coming.
Did not know he was that stupid

I'd rather have him than not have him, but in the grand scheme of things, I think his loss will be of minimal impact on us this year. I wish him all the best, as I do all LSU players, but he, and his hype we're getting to be a bit of a distraction, I think, and although he is a great ball hawk, and special teams guy, his size and speed may have possibly been an achilles heel this year, as I think the code on him as a DB was broken at the end of last season. It's never the Lavar Edwards' or Kadrone Boones of the world that pull this crap on us. Always the A-listers.

I think Eric Reid is the most important player on defense. Followed by Mingo and Sonic Sam. TM was the biggest play maker and most dymanic. Losing TM hurts but losing one of the other three mentioned would hurt a lot more.

A great d-line will make for an inexpereince secondary. And Reid is a very smart player and puts the rest of the defense in possition.
