With igoudala now in denver, the nuggets are pretty loaded on the wings. What do you guys think it would take to get him?

Concurrence abounds. Was dogshit last season, but was very good previously. Worth a shot to go after.

I would be okay with a lotto protected 1st and a 2nd.

They were pretty loaded before, I think they only resigned him to trade him later. Aminu actually might do well on a fast paced transition team like Denver, so I could see something like Aminu, Warrick and a 2nd for Chandler.

The traded afflalo in the deal, so they have no more than they had before the deal.

I really just started following basketball about two years ago. I'm still not familiar with who is great, good, average, and so on, but Chandler is rated above 80 in NBA 2k12, so sign me up!

didn't we pick up Anderson to be our SF or is gonna be a hybrid SF/PF player? Isn't Chandler a similar hybrid player as well?

No, he's a PF.

That's possible, but the only reason this is even coming up is because there is such a hole at SF. If we had a stud SF on the roster it'd be obvious that Anderson/Davis are the 4/5 starters.

Although he has played some spot duty at both PF and SG, most of his minutes have come at SF.

I don't think Denver will look to move Chandler right now. Their final roster move this offseason will probably be signing Quincy Miller now that they have a roster spot open. They are pretty loaded.

I don't see why not. The Nuggets have a ton of guys that can play SF (as well as every other position.. they are super deep). They are always looking to make a deal. Chandler would be a huge upgrade for the Hornets.

Rivers
Gordon
Chander
Anderson
Davis

I can deal with that, plus Chandler is only 25. Fits with managements youth approach. I'd trade a top 10 protected 1st and a 2nd for sure (plus dump Aminu if possible).

What's the incentive for Denver to make a deal though? They don't just make deals to make deals.

Stockpile picks and open up playing time for other players..? I would think their depth chart looks like..

Lawson/Miller
Iggy/Fouriner
Gallinari/Chandler/Brewer
Faried/Randolph
Mcgee/Mosgov

Not as deep as I thought, but they might still be tempted.

I just don't think that's the direction Denver would want to go right now. Stockpiling picks just restarts the process for them and they'll be in the same boat in a few years trying to divide playing time amongst them. Their team is extremely young as is. The only deal I see them making is packaging their assets for a higher caliber player.

I think their rotation will look more like this because of player flexibility combined with Karl's style of play.

Lawson / A Miller / Fournier
Iggy / Chandler / Fournier or Hamilton
Gallinari / Chandler / Brewer / Q Miller
Faried / Randolph / Gallinari / Q Miller
McGee / Mozgov / Koufos

Chandler is going to eat up a ton of minutes playing multiple positions as the 6th man. Plus he gives them a little insurance for Gallinari's injury troubles so far early in his career (though Chandler is coming off injury as well).

I just don't see how we could put together any kind of deal for him. They don't want picks. They don't want more young players to develop. They can't package him for any one player on the Hornets that will make them better. They'll want to lock up Iggy and Lawson long term, but I think they should be able to do that with their current financial standing (though I may be wrong).

I think they'll sign Q Miller and be done for the offseason. Play the season out. Try to lock Lawson and Iggy up next offseason. Let Brewer walk then. Hamilton slides into Brewer's minutes. From what I heard during the summer league, Denver is trying to develop Fournier at the point where he'll develop at his own pace and possibly make Andre Miller expendable if he catches on quickly. Basically, their 'logjam' will theoretically solve itself.

Just my take. And geez this was a longer post than expected.

I'm sure you are right, when I first thought about them I didn't think about how their SG situation was set-up for this season. Losing Afflalo and Fernandez left them kind of short there and Iggy really isn't the best option. Chandler really isn't a great option at SG either though, but they do need the depth. If only we had a SG to send them in exchange for Chandler..
