Anybody have a gunvault? I'm looking at this maybe for my truck. Thoughts?

So every time you leave your truck you'll put your gun in that? I doubt you'll use it after the first month.

This is what I use in my truck, I keep it under my front seat. Gunvault microvault.

Everytime I leave my truck, my gun's on my hip... it's for the times I have to legally leave it behind. The OP probably wants one for similar reasons.

That's what I figured, but the OP's vault was over the top for me anyway, yours' not to bad.
Do you attach it to the vehicle somehow or what?

Look your gun/valuables in the case when you go to the gym, well, etc? I do.

So, how is it secured to the truck? Bolted down?

That was the plan. Not sure if I could bolt this particular one down in the center console, but that's what I was hoping for.

It comes with a cable. I run it through the frame of the seat. It's a pretty wimpy cable though, but it should help prevent a snatch and grab. I don't leave my gun in there unless I have to.

I used to have one about the size the OP is talking about, it wasn't a gun vault though. I had it bolted down in my old ranger. My dad has the medium sized gun vault and he's got it bolted down to his night stand.

They're pretty solid but if you don't secure them, they can be taken away and broken into pretty easily. With the right tools it wouldn't take them long to get into one even if it's bolted down, but it's better than nothing if you gotta leave valuables in your vehicle.

I'll be getting one for my house. We have a baby that likes to explore now and she doesn't like them unsecured in the nightstands.

Best thing IMO... secure, but very easy to access quickly, even in the dark.

I've heard the fingerprint ones don't work all that well, especially if you're in a hurry.

It's a good idea to be responsible with your gun and ammo in your car to avoid theft and your gun getting into the wrong hands. With that said, I bought one and use it next to the nightstand for kid reasons. Mine is not the fingerprint version

I am irresponsible and leave my gun in my truck, but rarely park in poor neighborhoods. I also can't always carry the gun on me when I get out...
