Allen is like Southlake Jr. right now in terms of trying to be the most upscale city in the area.

It's just the offense they use. Spread out 5 wide and throw it around. No other high school can defend that. I was kind of surprised that Millard even wound up at a school like West Virginia but is nice to see him rising up the depth chart at least, he's the best we've got

You would be surprised how prideful people in Texas can be about their HS, I would personally never do it and think its lame, but some people just do that.

You don't know how Friday nights in Texas work. My brothers senior year was last year, and my parents had 50 yard line season tickets. They aren't giving those up.

I can't imagine places like Allen would be very good though. Sure, you can find good quartbacks and O linemen, but there's just not enough "athletic" folks in Allen if you know what I mean.

My family lives in Allen, and I've been to several of their games. They're a pretty damn good team, and the fans take their football very seriously. Their practice field was nicer than almost every high school field in Louisiana.

Their old stadium was huge and always packed out, not surprised really.

they're not gonna spend A+ money like that on a stadium and put a B- team on the field

Looks like these folks have a totally warped sense of priorities.

I hope they're sending a few kids to IVY League schools if they're pimping out their stadium this much.

Southlake Carroll would disagree with you.

It was. I played lacrosse on their practice field in HS. It was field turf.

As would Lake Travis (5 Straight State Championships; A Texas Record), Westlake, Cedar Park, etc.

I find that to be much more the case in NOLA than anywhere else.

Southlake Carroll is the defending state 5A Division II champion. And one of the traditional football powerhouses in the state.

Allen needed to schedule a cupcake opponent like McKinney, not someone that could make their home opener a nightmare.

There aren't that many "athletic" folks in Southlake either. And it's a much smaller school (nowhere near what Allen High is). But they're one of the top programs year in and year out.

Only in Houston or Dallas. I guess if you live in west Texas your life sucks enough that going watch high school football is a good time.
