I live in thibodaux. Been trying to bring my dish out to tailgate setup. Can never get it right on campus. Is there something i'm missing or is it impossible since it is a different zip code. Some special convertor I need. any help needed.

assuming you don't have tree issues it's just an alignment issue. just do sat setup on the receiver, it will give you the settings after you put in the BR zip code. I think there is an iphone app that locate's the sats as well.

Alignment is best with two or more people.

We set up a dallas based Direct TV receiver on the parade grounds every game with no problem. How close are you to any buildings or trees.

What about just using a laptop with a 4G air card and HDMI or VGA output? Not sure how many games will be online though.

Elevation 53.0
Azimuth 198.9

I can't help you with a SWM system. I don't have a SWM system. One would think that you need to bring that SWM power cord. SWM systems are nothing like the non SWM.

is the dish a swm, or just a standard 5LNB?

Really depends on where you set up. We have a lot of problems with ours. Parade grounds should be no problem, but once you move closer to buildings and the stadium it really becomes a crapshoot.

If you have a SWM system at home, ring a regular HD box (non dvr/SWM), call directv and get a B-band converter from them. When setting up you have to go.to satellite setup and change it from the default setting of: 1. SWM TO 2. B-Band Converter.

I am pretty sure that is you have a SWM system, you will need more than just hooking up your dish and box. A B-Band system only needs a dish and box to work. You will have to find out from someone that has a SWM system and hooks that up at the game.

You are not alone with this, as I see people struggling with this ever single game. Seen a few. People get so mad that they tore all of the equipment up!

Just ordered an extra SWM power cord and B-band converter. Will give it try again this year. Almost tore up my stuff last year frustrating.
