Bismuth Shotgun Shells

I have an old Browning that I have been duck hunting with for a couple of years. Was told not to shoot steel out of it and to use Bismuth shells.
Are they easy to find (like at Academy) and how much more $ are they then steel per box?
Thanks for any info!

This is true. I would not shoot steel out of it. The Bismuth will be twice as expensive as the steel and can be purchased where most other shells can be purchased. You may can find it cheaper on the interwebs. When I say twice as expensive, I mean twice as expensive for half the shells.
IE: 10 per box

They will be a good bit more. Academy will have some, but the selection will be more limited (may not have the right length or shot size you want).
You would probably be better off buying a new duck hunting gun. If you duck hunt a lot the difference in the shell prices would probably offset the cost of the gun after a couple years.

I have a 870 pump that I use also, but the A5 is just such an awesome gun. I hate not using it, but dont wan't to pay an arm and leg for shells.

Also, double check the barell and see if you see this mark on it. **Special Steel** If so, you can shoot regular steel out of it.

A5 is a badass gun, and I'd want to shoot it too. May have to limit it to dove, rabbit, and squirrel hunting though.
