I've tried to stop by several times while I was already in the Quarter and never seem to get there before their 10pm closing time. I decided to make the drive down there early yesterday evening so that I could finally try it out and it was well worth it.

You order from a counter in the back of Erin Rose and the kitchen staff, who were really nice, bring the food to you at the bar or one of the tables in the back. The bar felt like your typical off-Bourbon joint. Boring beer selection, nothing too exciting about the place, nothing too offensive.

I had the Moroccan spiced lamb poboy and my friend got the coriander lime shrimp poboy. The sandwiches were on Vietnamese style french bread, which was grilled so that it was nice and crisp outside and soft on the inside. There were two good sized patties of lamb sausage on each half of the sandwich, topped with thin pickled carrots, mint, and tzatziki sauce. The lamb had a nice spicy kick to it and several other strong herbal flavors. It was really juicy and the sauces saturated the bread by the last few bites.

I'll definitely be back to try out the other sandwiches despite the fact that I have to deal with Quarter parking and that they aren't open late when I'm normally in the Quarter... it's worth the trip.

Let's keep it quiet. They already run out of lamb sausage. I know they just got a new meat grinder but lets be safe.
