I bought it a while back (3 weeks or so) to put in a laptop, but I never decided to get a laptop so it's sitting on my desk

EDIT: Post up some pics for me or what's the model so I can look up some pics

haha I did the same. I keep wanting to buy a used 2011 MacPro with 2nd gen i5 off eBay then swap a SSD in the thing. Can never bring myself to do something the SO and I won't use. We use the iPad for anything mobile.

Also, my 690 came in a day early. Will post pics when I'm back from the gym.

The thing is huge! size of a gaming keyboard! Comes with a free T-shirt and pretty nice mouse pad I must say, none the less.. they could have put a backplate on the thing.

EDT:
Not to big on the green GeForce GTX. Will look into painting it gray or black. (It is back lite by an LED though)

I ordered a Gigabyte 7950 the other day. I thought it wasn't going to fit my case when I opened it.

Stout, how has the performance been?

I have seen benchmarks with the new 299 660Ti outperforming it on certain games.

None the less, nice card man!

So far so good. My frame rates have jumped up and stay more consistent than my 560ti. I haven't had time to pop in a high graphic game like BF3 yet because I have been playing DayZ. Plan on doing that this weekend though.

My MOBO didn't support SLI which I was going to do with the 560ti. Instead of changing the MOBO and getting a second 560ti I just got a higher end card. My MOBO does support crossfire so I could just totally over kill it and get a second 7950

I have read up on the 660ti and it looks great but I want the option to crossfire or SLI in the future and I can't with my MOBO. That's why I rolled with the 7950.

Do you plan to do sli in the future? If not, you can get a cheaper, less wattage, psu and get a nice keyboard or upgrade another part. I have a mechanical keyboard and love it!

Well i may en up sli in the future. Psu calculators put my system at about 530. I figured that it would be more prudent to buy a psu once as they are kind of pricey. As far as upgrading there aren't a lot of things I want to upgrade so far. I may end up getting a mech keyboard in the long run but I can't go wrong with a 7 dollar keyboard for now.

That's what I did with the keyboard. I bought the $12 Microsoft keyboard/mouse combo. I just bought a Razer blackwidow ultimate keyboard and it's amazing. I'll probably get the deathadder next just so I can get it matched and looking good. I found a pretty good deal on a PC on Craigslist that I'm hoping to buy and take parts from it to put in mine.

Nvidia 660ti

Yea I watched and read benchmarks for the EVGA and MSI 660Ti. Pretty nice card, I would porbably buy a 660Ti 2GB only if I had 1 monitor. If I was had a multiple monitor set up, would need more VRAM and go with the 670 4GB.

Really nice card with a great price none the less.

Okay guys I wanted to see what you guys thought about these two different setups. I'm trying to get the most bang for the buck and trying to keep it around 1000 to 1100 with monitor and peripherals.

AMD.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

ripjawz x series 8bg

Sapphire Radeon 6850

xcore 550w psu

adata 128gb SSD

Intel:

i5 2500k

ASrock z68 extreme 3

XFX 6770
Rosewill Challenger Case.

Same Ram, SSD and Case on both. I'll also be getting a HDD as well but didn't think that needed to be added.

AMD setup:$ 650.00 roughly
Intel:$ 700.00

What do you guys think?
