I'm really confused by the policy on religion threads.

Do you just have to attack religion for it to be ok?

Sounds like it's allowed on the poliboard again.

My understanding was that purely religious threads were not allowed on any board.

For instance, I started a thread about gay marriage awhile back asking what the basis for Christian opposition to it was, and it was whacked for being to specifically religious.

I'm not mad, I would just like to understand what is and isn't allowed.

Pretty sure it is now a post at your own risk policy. Keeps people on their toes.

I think that's how they want it. Always keep 'em guessing.

I think it depends.

Some threads are looking for a fight and/or get out of hand and should be anchored or whacked. Others aren't so bad and have a good back and forth. Sometimes threads will get wacked because there are just too many on a subject at one time.

It should just be fair warning to any who start a religious or potentially religious thread that it may end up whacked or anchored. Don't look for explinations, just be aware.

YOSSARIAN
Is Orr crazy?
DOC DANEEKA
Of course he is. He has to be crazy to keep flying after all his close calls he's had.
YOSSARIAN
Why can't you ground him?
DOC DANEEKA
I can, but first he has to ask me.
YOSSARIAN
That's all he's gotta do to be grounded?
DOC DANEEKA
That's all.
YOSSARIAN
Then you can ground him?
DOC DANEEKA
No. Then I cannot ground him.
YOSSARIAN
Aaaaaaaggghhh!
DOC DANEEKA
There's a catch.
YOSSARIAN
A catch?
DOC DANEEKA
Sure. Catch-22. Anyone who wants to get out of combat isn't really crazy, so I can't ground him.
YOSSARIAN
Ok, let me see if I've got this straight. In order to be grounded, I've got to be crazy. And I must be crazy to keep flying. But if I ask to be grounded, that means I'm not crazy anymore, and I have to keep flying.
DOC DANEEKA
You got it, that's Catch-22.
YOSSARIAN
Whoo... That's some catch, that Catch-22.
DOC DANEEKA
It's the best there is.
