Just got back from Gatlinburg, TN and found some Yuengling there. I heard people on this board rave about it before and I've just been waiting for the opportunity ever since. I had the traditional lager. the verdict: meh. I've had much better lagers than this. I would rather have a Brooklyn Lager than this

Yep, I don't get the appeal. The lager is just a style I don't enjoy.

Purely sentimental value.

It's not good beer on its own.

I loved it so much when I went to Myrtle Beach. Couldn't wait to get it in Georgia. Once we got it, it just wasn't good anymore.

Succinct and spot on. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Up against other lagers in the U.S. such as Bud, Coors and Miller, it is fantastic. It has great body and flavor for its style.

Sounds like you don't like lagers.

Its a beer that is a great alternative to the major players not to compare with microbrews.

I liked Yuengling until I realized it was not made by B,M or C. Then I stopped drinking it on principle. frick Yuengling.

Voice of reason here.

No its not a mircobrew or trying to be a mircobrew. But, for a lager you can drink all day its better than Bud, etc... Yuengling light isnt bad either. Prefer the original though.

I agree with this.

I drank plenty when I was in Pensacola for a weekend drinking all day.

It's nice for something like that, but it's nothing amazing.

It's great on the beach in Florida or Alabama when you drove in from a state in which it is not available.

I actually remember when Coors came to Texas. A drinking frenzy!
