Well I need to get a new bow, no way I'll find a cam for my old arse bow in time for the season and I don't see it being worth sinking that much money into it. I've narrowed myself down to these two. Getting just the bow and switching over the sight, peep, stab, wb, etc from my old bow. Anybody have experience with either of these and could offer an opinion? I'll go to cabelas and shoot both when I get a chance.

And I'm not buying a used bow, and I'm not spending any more than $300.

And no Alx I'm not waiting til I can save up to buy a matThews.

I saw a handful of last year model bears on eBay rigged out for 300, but they all max out a 30" draw length. My draw length is a few count hairs longer than what you can get out of a 30" draw length with a d loop. The 30.5" max on the PSE would probably be right on the money, the Bear would give me some room to get it right.

Not gonna happen, I can't do that in a few months and I can't justify dropping that much on a bow. And I've been hunting with a bow from the late 80s, any modern bow will feel like heaven.

Can't really go wrong with anything these days. I've only owned Mathews and I love my switchback, but it was hella expensive.

Shot both today, think I'm gonna go with the Bear. It's lighter, had more letoff, quieter, and I found it slightly more forgiving. The PSE did have a little more of a valley than the bear though.

I always thought Mathews owners we're too big of bow snobs to use the biscuit.

If Mathews had a new bow for $300, I'd probably get it.

if you'd had as many arrows fall off those old fashion rests we used in the 70's, and up til the biscuit came out, you'd know why i use it... when it used to fall off and down, it seems to hit top and bottom of climber, my foot and every limb beneath me going down..

I shot a whisker biscuit on my first mathews(outback) went with a QAD dropaway on my Z7 I have now. Only complaint I had about the whisker biscuit was it was rough on the arrow vanes. Was a little skeptical of the dropaway at first but after two years it has been very reliable. (knockonwood)

Yea the biscuit does hell on my practice arrows fletching but the arrows I used didn't have the best quality fletching. They got warped pretty quickly. Switching to gold tips this time around.

i dont shoot but about 10 times a year, so mine stay in fair shape for a long time.. about 5 or 6 deer and 4 or 5 practice shots..

honestly, i like to be able to hang it on the hanger in a high wind and even if i knock the crap out of it with my arm and it goes swinging upside down,, i want that arrow where its supposed to be when i finally get my old crippled authur itised hands wrapped around it...

I probably put close to 1000 arrows through mine last year.

But I like that it's not coming out unless I want it to

I definetly undrestand that. The QAD is a full capture rest, arrow can't fall off, if it could I couldn't use it

I'm team whisker biscuit as well. I can get a little fidgety in the stand and I don't want anything rattling around.
