These dumbass people used to come by the house every couple of months with a deep freeze in the back of their truck using the same story, "I had a restaurant order a ton of steaks and backed out, do you want to buy some cheap?". No way in hell am I going to buy a steak from someone like that.

Ha Ha, when I was in college I used to work for a company that specialized in selling steaks out of the back of a truck. Crappy steaks but you would be amazed at the number people who would buy them.

When my husband was in college, his mom bought an order for him from one of those trucks. He said there were lots of different types of steak/beef, most of it was thin or tough, but it worked to fill his freezer & belly for a while. So yes, it was edible, but I wouldn't try it.

If they are selling door to door then they are usually as bad as a steak truck.

Agreed, I have been short-weighed and damn near poisoned by them. I mean the roadside shrimp truck that stays in almost the same location every season.

I have had my best shrimp deals from the same guy.
