Mathews Heli-M. Anybody here got one? UPDATE!!

I'm in the market for a new bow. I can get the Heli-M for less than $750 bare bow. I'd like ti hear from some folks that have shot one before I drop that kinda cash on it. No OT baller here, so I gotta get the most for my moneys
ETA: I shot the Heli-M and it was awesome. But while at the bow shop I talked to a guy with a fully rigged Switchback XT.I shot it and I have to say that is the sweetest bow I have ever shot, including the Z7 Extreme and Heli-M. Not enough difference in those bows for the money. I ended up doing a lil wheeling and dealing and he traded me the bow, all accessories, a dozen arrows and $150 for my Glock .45. I'm back in the bow business now! Now just gotta practice up

what are you shooting now?

Buddy of mine recently bought one and loves. I shot it a few times myself and liked it

Haven't shot one. I recommed you try it for yourself. Also don't just shoot it a few times to see how smooth and quite it is.I did this once then got home and the smoothest, quietest most unforgiving bow I'd ever shot slung arrows every where when I tried to sight it in

Its probably a great bow. Mathews hasn't made a bad one that I know about.

Have you shot it? What are you shooting now?
I don't own one, but I've shot 200+ arrows out of a couple different one trying to decide if I wanted to buy one.
The draw cycle is similar to my Switchback XT. It's probably the smoothest bow Mathews has built in the last 5 or 6 years. If the bow has the original draw stop it has a nice wall, but a non existent valley. If you relax at all at full draw the bow will try to take off on you. Mathews came out with a new draw stop that fixes this. If the bow doesn't have the newer stop you can have it replaced with the new style. The bow balances nicely, is dead quite, and has very little vibes.
I've shot all of the major brand flagship bows and if I were to buy a new bow it would be the Helim.

There's a pic. I had a Mathews FX and traded it off for my daughter a shotgun so I gotta get a new one. I know every Mathews I have shot has been smooth as butter. I'm gonna see if the place will let me shoot one before I drop the cash

Appreciate the input man. I have shot the Switchback before and that's a damn fine bow

I have not shot one. I went to the store to look and fondle thinking this was finally the one to replace the old LX. I did not like the cam. It's a bit different from the Z7 series. The draw was nice, but I hate it when a cam will not let you creep forward. I thought my arm was going to dislodge. But that is just me. Plenty of people love the bow and have no issue with the cam.
If I did it today it would be one of the Z7s.

I have shot the Z7 Extreme. I gotta admit that's one badazz piece of bow right there. I believe I'll see what I can get one of those for and weigh out the price difference

You should check out one with the new draw stop. It isn't anywhere near as aggressive at full draw. I'm like you, I couldn't imagine trying to hold full draw with the bow wanting to take off like it did with the original stop.
It still wasn't enough of an improvement over my SBXT to justify spending a grand to upgrade.

Both are great bows as is the Vector 32. You can get the Helim and Vector 32 fully rigged for what the Carbon Element costs. If I were to buy a Hoyt it would be the Vector. My buddy has one and loves it. I shot his several times and I prefer the draw cycle of a single cam bow, but that's what I've shot for 10 years. It's really about personal preference, all the major companies build outstanding bows these days.
If I were to buy a dual cam I'd probably get an MR7
33 inch ATA
7 inch BH
344 IBO

They made the draw stop smaller so that the bow has a little bit of a valley. It made a huge difference for me. I try to pull into the wall but after a few shots or if I hold full draw for 20 seconds or so I tend to get lazy and relax a little.

When I saw it(the stop) it looked like something I could modify, but I was not going to spend that kind of money on a chance.
I had to hold almost a minute on my last doe. Bish moved behind a tree right as I was about to shoot, and doe #2 was staring at me.

That's one short ATA. Haven't shot one but have read a lot and my neighbor shoots competitions and he as well as many other people chose the Z7 over the Heli m. Way more forgiving.
Personally just switched from Hoyt to Bowtech, wish I would have done it a long time ago!
