Opened my bow case today for the first time since last season and discovered the string had popped. How much does this usually cost to replace?

I think its like 50 for a string and 20 for a cable.

shite. And part of my cam started breaking off last season, but it kept shooting fine. Now it looks like that cam has a crack pretty far through it. I don't think I want to shoot it nor do I think anyone would put a new string on it like it is. And I think I have a better chance of growing two dicks than finding a new cam for that old bow.

I hate being poor.

yeah, the string and labor.

It takes 7 seconds. I don't even think labor had a charge. It just said, "draw string, replaced" on the ticket.

Just dropped mine off yesterday for a new string.

$37.50 string
$12.00 Labor
$8.00 peep
$2.00 labor
$10.00 D Loop
$2.00 labor

$71.50

ETA this was in Little Rock and the place is pretty expensive. They are the only bow shop I have been to that charges MSRP for their bows. The price includes retuning my bow to make sure everything is in spec.

My $40 replacement string was about right.

$2 for labor? That's either too low, or too high.

It can't be just right.

Yep, but my usual guy is in Africa for 2 weeks on a hunting trip. This shop is the only other one within 75 miles of my house that I trust. One of these days I'm getting a bow press so I can do this stuff on my own.

Spillway sportsman puts them on for free. It will be a little higher than bass pro, but the guys at spillway sportsman are good. The guys at bass pro are questionable at best. Bowie is good, if you want to wait a month for it. Call Spillway and tell them what kind of bow you need to see if they have the string in stock.

I think mine was $50 FWIW.

Anybody think I have a chance in hell of finding a replacement cam for a Browning Wind River wr3a?

It might be easier to just try replacing both with something comparable.

I'll bring it to spillway or Bowie and see what they suggest.

Maybe. It may be possible to use a different cam.

spillway may be more accomodating. Usually, if Bowie isn't making big bucks off of ya, they don't give a shite.

That's been my experience.

Same with Edwin Watts.
