If the NFL is so worried about injuries...

...why must the Saints and Cardinals (this year) play a fifth pre-season game? Wasn't one of the leagues arguments against a longer regular season schedule centered around risk of injury? Who the hell watches the hall of fame game anyway? If the SAINTS were not playing in it this year, would you? And if the players are not going to put out effort, like the pro bowl, why bother playing at all? There, I have ranted.

I feel the same way. I don't care if it's the Jags and Browns, I'll watch it. Hell, even during the season I'll watch the prime time games if I'm not busy with something else. I just love football.

gives the coaches an extra game to view the young guys trying to make the team

That was the NFLPA, not the NFL. The "PLAYERS" were/are against an 18 game season. The league, is still mulling an 18 game season.
