Bringing my son down there for a couple days of fishing. Won't have a boat, staying at state park. I fished alot as a youngster and just really getting back into it. We won't have a boat and I haven't been to Grand Isle is quite some time.

Fish the surf at state park?
Roadside?
Inshore Charter?

Thanks in advance!

If Inshore Charter is in option at least do that one day. Spend the other time in the surf fishing and crabbing. That's what I'd do.

Do you realize this weekend is extremely busy in GI?

One of the guys at the camp got about 7 in the surf this morning. Wednesday day night I caught a half limit of specs on the bridge under the lights on a very small white plastic brim jig.

I've done pretty well fishing along the rocks by the Wildlife and Fisheries building.

Haven't fished it since a few weeks after the erl spill though.

In, I too am interested in this for my quick weekend trips to LA, not much experience in Grand Isle.

If you do any night fishing from the bridge use a ultralight rod and reel, this very small white curly tail grubs in 1/8 oz jig heads. I like to buy the premise ones. Throw out past the light and reel back through at a good clip...
